Any advice how to hide your stomach in a dress?

You are gutsier than me. I don't have a weight problem but an age stomach problem. I honestly just stopped wearing form fitting dresses even though my body isn't bad for my age. It really depends how much you want to wear something that sucks you in. If you go to the store there are a lot of different garments that pull stuff in but I find them too confining.
Maybe just wear what you are wearing with confidence. At this point you can't do anything about the weight so just go and have fun. If you do have photos taken you can use them later to show yourself how far you've gone in the weight loss journey. For me aging looks had sort of controlled what I wear and how I act in social situations but I've loosened up. I still don't wear revealing clothes but I don't wear super old looking clothes.
One thing that helped my stomach when I was really working out and it helped fast was hoola hooping. My waist would change like in 7 days. People have lost a lot of weight doing it too. I can't do the hands like this woman just the waist. It could be too because I used a regular hoola hoop and a weighted hula hoop but I have an untreated hernias in a couple places so I'm hesitant to use the weighted hoola hoop. I do think it makes a difference though.
The weighted hula hoop does feel like a beating at first and then it becomes no big deal.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/5MjAuCXYYjoBut a regular one is just fine.
Thanks for the advice. Tho I can't really hoola hoop because my stomach is in the way... D:
As for your advice of going like this: Yeah I will probably have to. I tried out wearing spanx, but it didn't make me look all that slimmer...
I have a hoola hoop at home, but every time I try it, it falls off after like 2 spins. I assume it would be easier with a flat stomach.
I like this outside corsette idea in this video. You can do a tight dress and put a corsette on the outside. https://youtu.be/sDTc0vDmq90
Ah, no thanks, that would just shout "hey I got fat but I'm trying to hide it!".
ok - i just read through the comments here and i am about ready to blow! the woman in the above pic looks exactly like that - a woman! and i am sick of men, and women too, that do not seem to understand that a woman carries a whole bunch of extra organs inside of her body! i am also sick of people not understanding that a healthy woman - meaning a woman who is fertile and capable of getting pregnant - and that's healthy for a female body - absolutely must carry a certain percentage of extra fats in order for her to get pregnant in the first place! so take your gym memberships elsewhere and stop fantasizing about women who look like 14yr old boys. grow up people! that woman is beautiful!
I agree
@Warmapplecrumble thank goodness it's not just me!
I think most people agree you.
@Warmapplecrumble i sure hope so!
☺️☺️☺️
This is a great question because I love fashion questions but this ones a real challenge and stumped. First, you have a great body! But that belly bump is a little much. They do sell stomach high hiking stockings that not only hide your belly but also help shape your legs and I believe this to be the best solution.
Nobody ever said dressing up should be comfortable, for guys or girls. Even my blue collar clothes is less comfortable than my PJ's. Have you ever heard the saying, "suck it up"? It's not nice to say but I believe its referring to bellies/guts. Clenching your abdominal muscles for hours on end is very difficult and uncomfortable. But some people still do, "suck up their guts" when they go out.
Posture and ab strength help this problem but overall, belly hiding shirts or stockings are the best option. I think loose fitting dresses are ugly.
So outside of the numerous "lose weight" comments, you can instead use a few things to draw attention away from your stomach and help draw attention to the parts you want (e. g. legs, back, body shape, etc.).
For exaple, the woman pictured has between a hourglass and pear body shape that can be shown off. The dress material is too thin and isn't helping smooth out her stomach. A denser/thicker fabric would work better with this tight and cut of dress.
There's a lot of great plus size models and fashion designers out there to pull inspiration from. Hell check out Lizzo's wardrobe.

If your belly bulge is just like that in the photo, only a corset can noticeably flatten that under a dress. I was gonna suggest wearing spanx but it may not be enough. Expect discomfort with the corset.
Yeah I tried spanx, but it wasn't enough. And I also tried wearing a corset, but it was a torture, so there's no way I''m going to wear that.
Eat healthy and cut the portions.. and you won’t need miracles or anything special. Was everyday at a fast pass for about 40 mins..
Why do people want to be fat and then want to hide it.
Just don’t eat a lot of junk.
If you wear a training body suit or waist trainer you’re still gonna look fat if you don’t change your diet.
"Why do people want to be fat and then want to hide it." I didn't want to gain weight...
Anyways I am currently working on loosing some weight, but I'm going to have a meetup/party on Saturday and that's why I posted this question.
If you have to hide... too much it mean one lose weight or two the fit is not for you. why have to fix your clothes 6x when your out trying to enjoy yourself.
(like people with guts wearing crop tops. It is not cute no matter who convince themselves)
I wear body cons but i would never wear if i had a belly. very distracting.
I don't wear cami strip dresses because i have no chest and it draws too much attention to that but tube top flare dresses flatter me the best.
I used to be pretty fit, but the last year really took it's toll on my body. So I still love the "skinny girl" clothes, even if they don't look perfect on me right now. I don't really want to limit my clothing options.
Anyways my current plan is to find a better form-fitting dress by Saturday.
And I am trying to loose weight so don't worry.
Wear Spanx. Don't be worried about it, tight clothing tend to exaggerate things like belly fat and cellulite etc things even in women with perfectly healthy bodies. That's just the nature of tight clothing, highlighting everything. I've even seen underweight women with some belly showing after wearing a tight dress.
I don't have this problem so I am guessing here a lot.
I've seen few adverts for these tight Spandex type underwear that tuck those areas. However, some girls say it makes it more obvious.
So you can avoid that dress and wear a looser dress at the bottom. I always wear these type of dresses as I can walk faster.
Uhm... The question is how to hide it not get rid of it. Seems like an odd question for guys. Seems more like a fashion thing. I don't think you look that bad. But try a dress with a pattern. Stay away from solid bright colors. Could also try pulling attention to your face or breasts to help hide it. All 3 should work well together. You can go with a jacket, but that depends on where your going. Not much since in wearing a dress just to cover it up right?
shapewear seems to be the quickest way. but in the long term. maybe a bit of changing up your diet and exercise could help to reduce the belly over all.
that being said I do not mind a girl with a bit of a pot belly. so long as don't have to lift it to be able to penetrate her.
I'm a guy so I'm not the best person to answer questions about dresses however, I feel like if I were a girl that had either a little bit of a stomach or I looked like I had a baby bump (pregnant or not), I wouldn't wear tight/bodycon dresses. I mean, that's just me though. I wouldn't want to appear fat, in my clothing and tight clothing, tends to show fat off
I personally don't think your belly is all that bad, you have no need to hide it, but if you want to, I'd wear a dress that is form fitting down to the bottom of your ribcage, then flares out at the bottom.
Try shapewear. Like underwear but it makes your body seem smooth.
And invest in a cute A line dress, they accentuate boobs but hide bellies and still look good/sexy
Good idea. Thanks.
How comfortable/uncomfortable are those? I tried wearing corsets before and those were a pain in the ass.
They say that shapewear is quite comfortable, but I never tried it, I always wear A line dresses.
You just pull it on like a shirt or underpants so it's easy in use.
You need to wear a looser dress then. However, instead of hiding your stomach it is better to work out and get fitter because then you can wear any kind of dress you want too.
Wear a dress that fits you. If it shows some of your stomach it's fine and no one will care.
You can probably find some sort of YouTube tutorial on this subject online.
Best advice is not hide. But to love your body and not give a rats behind what they think. As long as your dressing appropiayely, is happy, let others judge.
Add fake skin to other parts of your body to make it look equal or shape wear is the best recommendation but why you need to hide it anyway just be confident with yourself that's all you need
I think it’s cute. You shouldn’t have to feel like you need to hide it. But if you really want to, wear tights/stockings or a corset.
Your body's wonderful fleshy women look really sexy but you are more beautiful and sexy👍 your belly looks so sweet ☺
Duct Tape? ... Or perhaps just wider clothing. The tight stuff was invented to be worn by people with different shape.
I used o be slimmer, just put on a few pounds last year. I love these kind of dresses.
So why not slim down first. What I see in the picture actually HIGHLIGHTS the bulge. And as you for yourself also want to 'hide' it...
Because I need to hide it by Saturday, so working out and loosing weight by then is not really possible.
Short of surgery, there are really only three options; suck it in, lose weight or wear looser clothing.
What about those high waisted shorts or body thingies that flatten it up for dresses?
I tried wearing a spanx, but it wasn't enough to hide my stomach. :/ I also tried to wear a corset which did get the job done, but it felt like I was being tortured while wearing it, so that's out of the picture too.
I mean at least it’ll cover less though!
Don't wear that kind of dress. or in general anything skin tight below chest.
You have an very uncomfortable way that have been around for a few hundred years.
Corset.
Yeah I tried corsets but they are absolute torture to wear.
Use shape wear or a dress that is suited for your body shape
Dark colours. Dresses where there are shapes, eg from colours, that make your waist look slimmer
buy a dress that does not fit you so tightly unless you want everyone to see your fat belly ! thanks
You can't really, not without those abdominal pads that wrap around your torso.
And you shouldn't anyway. There is no need to.
Those things that push your belly in.
You black is also rather slimming.
My X wife you to say a woman without a bit of a belly is like a bedroom without a wardrobe me personally I love a woman like you
use one of those things you wrap around your waste to burn fat, its like a thing you can tighten, try that, it might be very uncomfortable tho
get a gym membership and use it 3 times a week. and/or lay off the junk food.
Shapewear, Spanx. Long term, you can work it off few months top
Id wear a dress that isn't so fitted but that's just me. Try shape wear. I feel your struggle im a bit chubby and always wanting to hide my stomach.
No but the easier way would be to try to lose weight. Do you have enough time to before you want to wear the dress to an event?
No, the meetup/party starts on this Saturday.
Be confident and wear what you want and tell anyone who says otherwise to shut up
Don't hide it, lose weight or wear something different.
I'm currently trying to lose weight... and u should get a gurdle
SPANX or some other foundation garments might help.
Ab exercises, cardio, and diet seem to work. Dont hide it, just lying to whatever sex u are attracted to.
What is the event? A date? A wedding of someone else?
Basically a party with people from high school/elementary school that I haven't seen in ages. I used to be pretty fit back then so it would be awkward if my stomach was this noticeable.
Yeah... don't wear a clingy dress like that if you have a GUT. It looks gross. You can't hide that much FAT !!!
This is hilarious! Voted down by 3 women! LMAO. Go ahead girls, wear that skin tight dress and "let your gut show" ... because that's real attractive and body affirming. *eyeroll*
It’s really about what you eat. I mean you can try shape wear but that only hides so much.
i like this stomach
u shouldn't turn it to any problem
but u should exercise if u really make it a problem :)
@Nahid1707 I dont know dude
Its ok no problem for me:)
Just go to gym and deal with it...
Otherwise just wear something not so tight...
It takes a while to loose weight
If you can't go to the gym, then wear a non fitted dress
Better wear a wider dress. Something like a Babydoll dress
Tying saran wrap helps.
real funny...
I wasn't trying to be funny. i have seen youtube videos about it.
OH? Sorry then, I looked it up and it is actually a thing... I wasn't expecting that.
No problem🙂hope it helps.
Don't wear form-fitting dresses.
But those look the best. +My wardrobe is pretty limited so I don't have any non-form-fitting dress that would fit the occasion.
Spanx
Yup, Spanx. Or one of the many (poorer quality) knock-offs.
Don't wear a skintight dress.
Corset or body shaper
You ever heard of a girdle?
Spandex. Even just like Nike ones
Spanx? Or a different style dress?
Try a shapping strap maybe
I would say your best bet is spanx
I would wear spanx and wear a bit looser dress
Use tummy control shapewear.
Ya, wear a bigger dress
Less pizza and more treadmill.
I'd recommend shapewear or a looser fitting dress.
Don't hide it
Nice body
Uh get a different dress
What’s your height and weight?
Why do you ask?
That’s a part that could determine how you look but I ask that since you didn’t have a picture of yourself exactly
