TL;DR: Personal preference and art analogies I guess

There's a certain balance between, and honestly it's based on personal preference. Some prefer no tattoos, some prefer a few, and some prefer a lot. It's really depending on what you like.

Personally, I think that somewhere between no tattoos and a few tattoos here and there is nice. There's a certain beauty in simplicity.

Tattoos can tell a story, it can give some insight to a person and gives them a certain depth of mystery that could be attractive, but also it could basically repulsive with an excessive amount, like trying to overdetail a painting and it just ends up as a jumbled mess, or basically stickerbombing a bumper.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and depending on the simplicity or complexity, can either attract those with a certain eye or can repel an audience of onlookers.

As long as they aren't repulsive or distastefully displaid or located!

Personally, I wouldn't say this makes them generally unattractive, but I would say less attractive than if they didn't have them. Both of those example pictures, although attractive people with tattoos, would look even better without them in my opinion.

From what I’ve seen recently?

Majority of woman love men with tattoos.

And I don’t mind women with some ink on their skin.

As long as the art they have is meaningful and isn’t ugly to look at. (Cause some art can actually compliment a woman’s appearance)

And as long as she doesn’t have too much ink. To where she looks like a damn painting.

I think it depends on your personal taste, me I don't mind one or two small Tattoos but covering a large area is not my thing. Someone else my like and find it very tasteful & erotic, me not so much in fact not at all. I find them unappealing & very distasteful, like body piercing I' don't care that either. & before you say I'm being judgmental, I've got a tat on my right forearm that I wish I never had done. Funny things about tattoos once their there it's a forever thing unless your very rich & if you don't like can afford the thousand bucks a squate ince to thve it removed

I actually like tattoos on SOME people. And it depends on the tattoo.

But it's like any other accessory.
It's a matter of whether they can pull it off and the quality of it. Does it suit them?

I have three tattoos, and my wife has three tattoos. Neither of us thinks of ourselves as unattractive due to our tattoos. (I think I am fat and funny-looking, and she thinks she is too tall... but the tattoos don’t come into the equation at all)

Actually, one of my tattoos is my late wife’s tattoo – she couldn’t get tattoos (she had problems with healing wounds) so I got one for her. I never thought her tattoo made her unattractive, either...

I had a crush on this guy who was obsesssssed with tatted girls, like girls with lots of tattoos. Some people think it looks very beautiful, bad ass, or even just artistic. Seems to be a cultural marker as well. Some love it, some dont.

Most tattoos wouldn't look good on a placemat.
Tattoos in Japan in the 1700s and 1800s, for example, had elaborate and subtle artwork in various complex shadings and tones.
Today tattoo artists follow a pattern and colour it similar to a child colouring within the lines of a comic book, one colour, one shade, one tone.
Most tattoos look like shit and are not in any way attractive. They make the person look like cheap trailer trash.

For me, it depends. My girlfriend has a tatoo and she's super sexy but there are some people out there that just should not have tatoos at all. But an overall general for me is that, tatoos do look good on people as long as its not weird looking

Tattoos can be very nice to look at. But if you don't age well, they will look terrible in my opinion. Which is one of the reasons why I don't think I'll ever get a tattoo.

I'm not a fan as such. I had a girlfriend with one very high quality medium sized tattoo, and It was pleasant. Another had 3 poor quality ones, and they were off-putting. (Made me understand the term "trash tag")
