Where I live, regardless of how attractive you are, if your skin tone is considered dark then it's gonna drag down your attractiveness/rating, like you could be a total knockout but won't be considered over a 5/10 at all. My mom always tells me that I'll have a hard time finding a man. Funny thing is, just talking about it, or mentioning it makes some people on g@g think that I hate my skin tone or have bitterness towards it. Probably because they don't come from the same culture so they don't entirely get it.
The reality is, I neither despise it nor 'glorify' it and think that it somehow makes me more special. It doesn't. As long as I find foundation that matches my skin tone in the market I'm good, because makeup for dark skin is not easy to come by here. I'm grateful for one thing though, that I can spend hours under the sun and I just get tanned, I don't get sunburns. I also seem to pull off both gold and silver jewelry, so that's great. Yeah most men here don't find it desirable, so what? I'm marrying only one so it doesn't matter if he's one in a thousand or one in a million.
The only true 'bummer' comes with my skin tone is that I have vitiligo so the white spots are noticeable even from far away and it's very distracting especially when talking a photo. I could be several feet away from the camera and the whites are still visible if I don't cover them up with a heavy-duty concealer (I use the kind that Drag Queens use for stage performance). Otherwise, I have no other complaints.

It's just a skintone 🤷🏾♀️. I like when my actual skin is clear and glows and such. I don't get too wrapped up in the color of skin and all that. I feel that people that focus on that are hidden colorists.
Naturally tan half of my forearms. Then pretty pale everywhere else. I've never tanned anything other then that my arm part. Don't really care too. If I had a choice? Sometimes I get this like orange hue I wouldn't mind if I had it pernamently. Can't figure out why it happens. Maybe it's something to do with the air quality and humidity and stuff.
Mines nice. But what kind of makes me disappointed but proud at the same time is darker color skin I feel is starting to become more popular. I'm all nerdy pasty white 😂 but it's a good time to have darker colored skin. Or at least I thing so anyway

Yea im a bit darker than beyonce but i like my little caramel self. Some call me a redbone. Yellabone would be more if i had a “mixed girl” tone. I miss the natural tans i used to get as a kid when i played around outside. I was glowing beautifully
I'm the first one from Mediums's row. I like my skin, it's really nice colour. I used to be darker before pregnancy though. And when I tan it gets some golden-brown colour. My skin has perfect colour. ❤
Yes i like it! I am white but not pale or smt. I always like to get a bit brown by the sun :)
I have a very fair complexion (pale blue eyes, freckles, and light brown hair) and I think it suits me nicely. I can’t imagine myself as darker or tan, so I would say that I like my coloring.
Yes, finally. My skin is dark, which I hated growing up, but now I think it's cool.
I say you should be happy with whatever God gives you.
