Girls, to you, when are shorts too short, and when are they too long?

Most of us are probably not moms, but I like the picture.

For me, I don't really have a "too short," as long as they cover my butt. So as long as they're like at least 2 inch inseam or so, that's fine. 1 inch inseam or less though is probably butt cheek territory, so that's a no-go for me.

And "too long"... when it starts to come close to touching my knees. Because I like my shorts ABOVE my knees. SEVERAL inches above. I work out and I got nice quads, so I gotta show that sweet, sweet thigh. That being said though, the longest I'd go is probably 7 inch inseam. 8 or more seems to be a no-go for me.

I agree with you. I won't go above a 2 to 3 inch inseam, because I love short shorts (I'm still too young for "mom shorts", lol).
But I also don't wear shorts that show "cheek".. that's a bit much.

This. 100% this. 2 or 3 inch inseam is very nice, since I live in Florida, it's constantly hot all year except for winter, and in general, I rarely get cold on my legs, so it really is super comfortable!

I don't mind going up to 7 inch for basketball or whatever, but I usually avoid shorts that long, lol.

But yeah, "cheek" shorts are a bit much... too cold, and not to mention sitting on public seats with your bare "cheeks"... it's cold, and not too sanitary, as you don't know how clean the person sitting there before you was, lol.

I don't mind my thighs on public seats, but "cheeks" on public seats is a bit much... besides, I wouldn't wanna sit in an area after a sweaty woman in "cheek" shorts just sat there, and left her cheek sweat all over there... 😱😂😅

Another question though... do you wear skirts and dresses? And if so, what length do you prefer?

Personally, I like skirts and dresses about a hand above my knees, or mid-thigh. I HATE it when I walk and the skirt/dress keeps hitting my knee, it's SO annoying. 😂

So I definitely can't wear LONG dresses, lol. But if I go too short I might have a wardrobe malfunction. 😅 So a hand above the knee to mid-thigh is my "sweet spot," haha.

Yeah, I'm totally with you on this one, haha. I live in Florida, and shorter (within reason) is usually always better than longer.

Also, might be an unpopular opinion, but I also like the short shorts look on guys... not as short as girl shorts, but like 7 or 5 inch inseam. Above the knee, around mid-thigh.

Just as long as they stay 7 or 5 inch, and don't start to go into 70 short shorts territory, lol.

I have short legs with a big butt. I wear short shorts to make my legs look long but need to cover the big booty. Which the perfect short shorts are hard to find especially when you have a big booty. They will rise up to your butt cheeks when you knee or bend down. I feel like wearing shorts that fall down to your knees make me feel and look like a boy.

As a short girl, the shorter the shorts the taller I look so basically as long as it does look like a diaper and you can't see cheeks it's good.

On the flip side any shifts 4-7 inseam are a no to me because I feel like they stop really awkwardly on my quads.

I would wear 11 inch inseam beacuse it is verging capri territory😂

I hate when cheeks start to show so right below the cheeks is the minimum length and 5 inches length according to the second picture is the maximum for me. I look funny when I don't show enough of my thighs.

I was gonna say I feel like a mom if my shorts are too long, but my mom had me at 17 and is only 36, and she looks even younger because she looks GREAT for her age... some even mistake me and her as sisters! Heh. Her shorts are about the same length as mine, if not a bit longer...

Most moms may be a bit older and less fashionable, but not her, heh...

But if I won't say mom, let me just say a conservative religious older woman, haha.

Anything that shows my bare ass is too short. Some longer shorts look cringe too. I usually wear something like Spanx in the summer and they naturally ride up my thighs and stop at my booty

Women short are too long for me and girl's short are too small. I just shop in boys section for short that I liked and prefer. i had wider butts and wider hips and has well being more shorter then must women.

Yeah, I agree. Like if meeting my boyfriend's parents for the first time, I probably wouldn't wear 2 inch inseam ones, lol. 7 inch inseams would be more appropriate.

But on a chill girl's night out? 2 inch inseam is just fine.
