What will you wear to your work?
How will you design your office?
Does creative expression still exist in this world?
Does happiness or sadness still exist in the wrinkles of our brows or the curve of our lips?
I’m trying to imagine that such a scenario could exist, where judgement is solely upon output.
For example, am I unable to judge (analyze) the emotions written on another’s face? And only determine their happiness based on their next action?
Do you just mean critical or progressive type judgement in terms of success?
Perhaps I’m overthinking what your meaning is because what I imagine is a robotic world where we are just cranking out productivity and devoid of acknowledging the delight on a child’s face or mischievous grin of the elderly.
I think you are over thinking , what I meant by appearance means the things that we get judged on in our daily life, such as clothes, makeup, hair color, hair style, car, house, how we decorate them etc.
No connection to facial expressions
I’m glad this was a “great” question. I think it is as well.
Thank you for clarifying.
I think the world would be a lot better place if we judged without those things. The “output” that we valued would be even more important and in my opinion, more competitive. We may have a more productive society.
I’d probably still decorate my work space creatively— in a way that inspires me and reminds me of my goals and purpose, pictures of family or travel dreams.
Exactly. I've seen questions about the clothes to wear to an interview, or superiprs taking about the dressing of their subordinates than the output, if this wasn't an issue, we could have allocated more time on things that actually matter.
I think about this a lot since I've been plagued with insecurities from my teenage years.
Sometimes I get the to wear the Hijab just to feel like I can go out without being judged on my appearance, my body, clothes etc. It feels to me like a rebellious way to say I won't allow you to rate my looks because I'm unrateable and you can't tell anywys under this cover!
But then I remember that I'd still be judged for being Muslim lol.
That's a difficult position, but your appearance should never affect your right to live your own life
Pretty much the same. Maybe a little better.
I'm not Henry Cavill but I don't think I'm bad looking.
Similarly, I earn six figures as an engineer in a state where that's a ton of money. But I'm no CEO nor have I sent anyone to the moon.
I'm no saint or rockstar, but I love talking about heavy topics, generally take interest in others, and like to offer emotional support. But certainly not without a sense of humor either.
So I don't think my looks help or hurt me too much compared to the rest of me.
You are lucky
Single comes with its perks.
Unless you want to be in a relationship
I already live like that because I'm not weak, not a sheep, and I am comfortable with myself. I wear Victorian Era, 1920s, 1940s, and 1950s clothing and have amassed a collection of items from those eras as well. I definitely get looks and stares but I don't care. I've also received many nice comments from other people who wished they could live like that too but they don't have the courage.
That's nice. I love the look of vintage cars, but I don't have any

I'd probably have more friends. a lot of people see me the blonde bimbo type and don't take me seriously. Don't get me wrong I have good friends but a lot of my male friends turn out not to be genuine once they realise Im never gonna be there's and they assume I'm dumb and manplain everything to me
Well, many men would get disappointed if an attractive woman is never gonna be theirs.
Treating you as dumb is shitty
I'd probably be happy, not depressed, I'd probably still have family as my parents didn't want ugly children, I'd probably have friends and a love life, my confidence and self-esteem probably would not have been killed and I'd probably have been able to become something that I've always wanted to do like stream or sing or be in a band, be on tv, have pictures taken. There's so much potential for my life had I never been judged for being ugly.
I understand. But I think as a guy you still have chance to be in TV if you have skills
I can't do cameras though, or mirrors.
Yes it is tough
Unlikely I'd change much about how I dress or how I have things set up. I would hope the personality aspects I get complemented on when someone is rejecting me and trying to be nice about it would mean I wouldn't be getting rejected and would actually feel wanted and valued for once.
I would be more myself. I would arrive to work in a onesie.
Onesie?
True.
I already live like my appearance doesn’t matter. I don’t wear make up or perfect my hair or wear fancy clothes. I just dress the way I like to see myself. So not much of a change for me.
That's great
Omgggg
I would wear dresses a lot.
Vintage dresses and sundresses, with a 70s-90s twist. 🤪
That would be cool
Yeah you should
@devoygf @Tstrbrainer Y’all gave me motivation. Thank you. 🥲💜
All the best👍
I wouldn't change much. Maybe less deterrent comments to bring misinterpreting guys to ground of reality was necessary.
I honestly wouldn't change anything. I wear whatever I want and never think about how people perceive me that way, just never cared about it.
It’s sad but I think I’m mostly valued for my appearance. I’m not sure I have a lot else to offer. Everyone else always seems smarter or more creative or more interesting than me.
That is tough
My office is designed exactly the way it would be in an alternative world. I'm wearing, or in some instances not wearing, what I would be decorated in.
Probably just the same because i'm pretty secured about my style.
That's great
i wouldn't have changed anything, but i would love myself more if that was the case.
I would wear a snowsuit all the time, I hate the cold but as a grown adult I can’t wear my suit in public!
Interesting question
So what's your answer?
I think the same things I wear now more or less, because well clothes are pretty optimised for comfort as in the general clothes so I'm not really sure what else you'd do there
Okay. So no change in color, design, things like that?
Maybe. But still the things that would be available are limited by the current market
True
I would certainly be a lot happier.
Happy yet bored.
Bored?
The same as I am now
same as I am now
