Do you prefer balding, shaved, or surgically corrected hair?

I discovered I have a receding hairline. I wanted to get an idea of what women find attractive, since it's an unavoidable change.

Do you prefer letting it naturally follow the receding pattern, completely buzzing it short or shaving it (say Stanley Tucci, or Jason Statham), or actively taking measures to counteract recession (transplant).

Also, in the comments, how much does this matter to you? And I also have a beard (think Amos from The Expanse). With a bald head, do you prefer clean shaven, stubble, or decent beard (I have no plans for a long beard).

This won't affect my plans too much, but it helps with decisions between two styles I like. My plan is to basically style it accordingly while I can, and then just shave bald when I can't.

For any guys who have a receding hairline, I recommend shaving bald at least once. Then you know what you'll look like, and it makes it easier to choose balding vs shaved, or if you would want to consider corrective precedures. I had a good experience doing it myself.

I seem to grow hair faster on my head than comfortably; I can get a buzz cut and six months later my hair is in my eyes. It's annoying to me. Especially the ball and ass hairs; I'd love to recede there.

But I think you go badass with the receding hairline or shave it all off. It only looks bad when you don't have a tan on the head to match your face.

I really think girls are more attracted to confidence than anything else. I would have a bunch of dorks staring at online dating statistics who'd disagree with me, but that's online! That's even worse than nightclubs.

They don't understand women at all. So never be ashamed of what you got whether it's a full head of hair or a receding hairline because the number one way to scare women away is being ashamed. That's the way I see it now at my age.

Good advice! Yeah that's why my goal was to kind of embrace it. I'd say my main concern is that it makes me look older, and I'm attracted to younger girls. Hitting 30 is freaky when you're single. It seems like everyone paired up in their 20's and you weren't invited to that party.

I actually have the opposite impression if you can find a good crowd. At least the reasonable ones tend to become less superficial, less cliquey, with age. So I always found it easier breaking into older social groups/networks than younger ones. And the parties tend to be better suited to get to knowing each other like barbecues, picnics, and the like -- not so rowdy.

Breaking in and finding your crowd is always a challenge at any age, but less so in my experience and opinion with passing years. There's no longer pressure to be so cool as we get older.

Great advice! Thanks for the input. This'll help me appreciate older women as well. Because in hindsight, I do see exactly what you've described. I've gone to some of my dad's parties and while they did get surprisingly rowdy at times, the vibe was more "chill", like everyone just belonged and weren't obsessing over status, cliques, and comparisons.

I do still worry about everyone having paired up and married, and that the older I get, the more the good ones have been snatched up. Though I imagine women feel this on steroids.

Some women are in the same boat and I've found no share of good ones (pretty too!) at your age, or any age for that matter. It's not a race as I see it. And there's not much needed to make the greatest time with a stranger with whom you click.

And similarly, having "forced" 2 relationships in the past, it is MUCH better to be single than to be with the wrong person. The first was obese, and I was trying to see past it, but it led to pain and frustration for both of us. The second involved my trying to make it work with a woman who was manipulative. It puts you in a state of constant apology. I learned to only look for what I reasonably like, and to be able to reject others who seem manipulative and negative.

I think it's often best when you don't force it too much. We tend to be more selective when so. But if you're time for good conversations and good times, that vibe will click should with some good people. And those some people might have some connections to more people, and so forth. Then when you're surrounded by good people and have your own little community, that's when you find the best love interests as I see it -- along with a share of lifelong friends.

But if you're in this for the long-haul -- of lifelong friends and lovers -- then it helps to just let things hang out. Good and bad. Don't be afraid to be a bit divisive. Expressing yourself boldly often has that divisive effect, but that's how you discover your truest friends and truest lovers. It's with those people you can be perfectly comfortable being yourself without losing them. The journey as I see it is to find those happiest with you at your most comfortable.

I'll probably do a Jason Statham or Johnny Sins or military style if I ever care enough about my receded hairline. The last time I shaved my head I got a sunburn on top of my head that peeled and made the hairline worse. Lol.

Just shave it and embrace your head and focus on maintaining a bomb-ass beard.
