I hit my 40’s and I mostly do T shirts, jeans, and when cold, an over shirt. I wear “old man” brand sneakers - it’s hard to find footwear that’s comfortable because I have a lot of foot pain.
That being said, I don’t think it’s popular with women, and I think image is a lot with women… which is sort of understandable, but I wish it weren’t just all about brand and expense; if it looks good, and is clean, I shouldn’t have to buy a $100 shirt.
There are plenty of people who make snide remarks. I was told a few months ago I looked “homeless.” How I looked homeless in a clean dress shirt, dress pants, stubble (but well kept), and a $200 winter jacket (I got on sale AND combined birthday and Christmas gift). It was 20° outside; I’m not wearing my thin dress coat just for looks.
I wonder if it severely hampers how wealthy people see me; so I’d like to dress a little older, and a little more “like a grown up” but it’s hard finding stuff I like, on my budget, with a good fit. I dress up already because of work, so I do ok - but I need to step it up with casual or semi casual wear.

I grew up a Chicago Bulls and WWF fan in the 1990s. I love the vintage 80s, 90s, early 2000s stuff. There are 3 things for guys that never went out of style. Levis jeans, plain white t-shirts and leather jackets. Michael Jordan was and is still an icon in the world back then and now. His sneakers are popular and highly coveted. I don't see an issue if I want to wear a vintage WWF t-shirt, some nice Levis jeans and Jordan 1s. I don't care what young women wear, if a girl says "ew, he's dressed like a kid". My rebuttal would be, "Really? Because I dressed myself today and I am not dressed like Jr. with a dress shirt, small bow tie and corduroy pants". Then I would ask her why she's dressed like Jenna Jameson?
I do believe by a certain age a young man should not wear clothing with half naked women or vulgar words on it. I try to dress simple, usually my go to are Roots joggers or Levis jeans and either a simple Ralph Lauren crew neck t-shirt, a simple Lacoste crested crew neck t-shirt or a Nike embroidered shirt. Sometimes i'll switch it up and throw on a vintage shirt or a Coogi sweatshirt. Sometimes i'll wear stuff about positive things like peace or religion. Yeah, I love my sneakers but overall I don't dress like a fuck boy or someone trying to follow trends. What I mentioned could go out of style even next year, it won't matter to me. For example, Jordan 1 sneakers really gained popularity the last 6-7 years because more celebs wore them, before then, Jordan 1s were going to the outlets in the early 2010s.
I can dress up when I need to whether it's going to work or going out on a date with a girl. If I have a date with a girl and its a chilly night I don't mind wearing khakis, a turtleneck, leather jacket and some loafers. I think I have a unique/conservative style in my opinion.
It's not about a certain age. It's about being appropriate for the situation. A gala at the Metropolitan Opera house in New York is dress-up in a tux or something else fancy. Working on your motorbike means overalls. Tooling around town your T and jeans is fine. According to what your job is, you have some kind of work outfit. Plumbers and electricians aren't going to wear office outfits. Someone in the fashion industry is likely to wear higher fashion than most folk.
Doesn't matter if you're 27 or 77. Wear what is good for where you're going and what you like. That gives you broad choices and great opportunity for comfort.
I think this new style, kick back to the 90's, is hideous! When I see guys my age wearing some tight, straight leg jeans and a vintage top, That looks good on some guys, but many it doesn't. I always thought the late 90's/early '00's style was cute. Baggy jeans, white tee's, jerseys, beaters in the summer, and Air Force 1's/Jordan's.. the little cholos wore the Dickies, beaters, and Nike Cortez lol. But.. everyone has a preference.

The biggest thing I've heard is wear clothing that fits. You don't have to be fitted, but it does you a disservice to dress in super baggy clothing, apparently. I'm planning on updating my wardrobe very soon as I've almost finished my weight loss efforts and now am focusing more on gaining a little tone.
It's hard to predict what styles will be the most popular, and trying to chase them can be expensive. Relaying what I've heard and been told when asking for advice: wear clothing that fits and follow through on all the little tasks that contribute to hygiene. Apparently a lot of people just rub their soap or bodywash on their chest and let the water carry it down their bodies, or only brush their teeth once a day, etc. Show that you make an effort basically.
Then choose a way of dressing that you like. What exactly is dressing your age lol.
you dress aimed at a look you want to achieve, at the event you are going to.
in summer I’m very much t shirt n shorts when not working, then it’s either suit or just smart casual.
if anything as you get a bit older you realise how wide a style you can dress, how we dress is not age related other than yeah some teen stuff would look meh.I always say casual is best, regardless of what gender you are. Sure it can be appealing to wear nice and fancy clothes sometimes, but I would much much rather someone choosing something based on their personality and their liking opposed to what society expects of them.
😊I think men should have the same freedom to dress and wear as they please, just as us women do! 😊
If you wanna dress down into something fun or like a superman outfit lol lol who cares... as long as he knows The correct time and place to do such, there should be no issue. 🥰What a depressing thought.
And that second guy needs to buy some clothes that fit - and some socks too, while he's at it (although it looks like he might have just taken those off and stuffed them down his pants).I think it’s all about wearing what’s appropriate for the occasion.
im 31 and I’ll still wear jeans, tshirt, and vans. Nothing wrong with that, but I wouldn’t wear it to work or date night for exampleMajority of women don't care what you wear as long as it's not clown or pre-school looking shit (e. g. Barney Shirt, rainbow shorts, etc).
We only care if you act your age.I like the casual preppy look on men but yes I would like them to dress their age pull their pants up above their ass lol
I think men should dress however they feel like dressing.
No dress how you want, I really like when people express themselves through fashion or simply wear whatever they feel best in
My normal non-work dress is a teeshirt tucked into my jeans with slip-on shoes. When on the job I am in a full business suit with black shoes. male or female, I don't care for that grunge look.
Last time I checked jeans and t-shirts are for adults too.
Dress however you want. Style is personal there is no right or wrong
I have been wearing jeans and t-shirts since I was a teenager. Some clothes I have had fr 30 years. I see no reason to change.
It should look good on you, that's the only condition
the outfit with the vans looks normal for a guy in his 20's dressing up is only for special occasions
Nah I couldn't wear yellow gold or my skinnbekladnad
Just wear anything u like or u think fits your taste n style. And never wear any shirt with catchy words on it like “live love fuck” or something like “i hit the gym harder than your mom last night”
Don't dress like the guy in the second picture unless you want everybody to think you are a fruit
No
Who are you trying to impress?
I get it for trying to get girls or job. Outside of that people don't matter.
