that is not true at all... confidence is not exactly about showing more or less skin
nor about being sexy and provocative
confidence is more like being truly to yourself and who you, how you are... and without the need to conform or please what others might think about you
you can be confident and dress with more modesty, more fancy or more classy... even conservative and still be confident
and you can also be confident and dress to impress, more flashy, a bit more revealing and even provocative
just dress in the way you see it fit for yourself and in the way you are comfortable with yourself... and that's it
Woah like freaking thank you a lot this is truly helpful.
glad to share some perspective
I completely disagree with the premise that if someone is "confident" then they expose themselves and show off all their parts. That's not true at all. I'm very confident in terms of my physical self. I am an athlete and have a muscular body but I choose to cover for modesty.
I believe that a person has to be quite insecure to constantly have to be exposed to feel better about themselves.
The most beautiful women are those that know their self worth and are modest. They have the most dignity and don't need to have all their bits showing to feel sexy.
Your words are very helpful, thank you like a lot. Also, I agree with you on everything you said.
Depends on the reason why you do it. Do you do it to hide your body because you are ashamed of it? or do you just enjoy dressing modestly?
If you are ashamed you are probably just insecure and that is fine, everyone feels a little insecure from time to time and if it doesn't bother you no need to change. And if you just like the look you do you.
I would wear the clothes I listested not to wear in public only in private around my partner alone but in public I love wearing those long dresses they make me feel comfortable, i draw less attention to myself which i like a lot and i am adhering to my religious dress code.
No, they aren’t right. And most importantly, they aren’t you. You wear what you are comfortable and confident wearing. End of story.
Thank you so much your words are helpful.
You’re welcome girl.
Thank you for MH Girl

Wear whatever makes you feel confident in and makes you happy and comfortable! Don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise. Don’t let clothes wear you! You wear them and work it 💪
to be honest with you I find this style of modest/elegant clothing more appealing for a female to wear while in public. she shouldn't need to bare it all to those nearby her just to look sexy or attractive. in my opinion it's better to save the more provocative clothing for a more private setting.

The picture you put up says i'm old fashioned and prudish 😂, also thank you as well, your words are helpful, I do agree with you, yes, I will only ever wear bikinis and other provocative clothing and skirts/dresses above the knee around the company of my partner alone because I believe that's the right thing to do 😏😂
just means you dress in a more conservative manner nothing wrong with that my dear. I honestly find it delighting to know there are still some young ladies who are like this.
also that image shows roughly around the knee to be proper and roughly around the shin/calf is old fashion I believe.
for a work setting anything thigh length or shorter typically requires nylons or shorts underneath to by safe for work.
similar to how for a work setting anything that could cleavage often requires a shirt of some kind underneath it.
could show*
I fall under the old fashioned/prudish category then lol, but thank you this pictures gave a good laugh I didn't at all take them personally. Also thank you for your kind compliments!.
as to your comment about not wearing a bikini to at public pool or beach. they make ones that are a tank top and skirt combo some even can zipper or button together to appeal as a one piece.
some of the skirts are like a skort which is skirt and shorts in one.
If so, then guys are EXTREMELY lacking in confidence. Because we have to be covered up everywhere but the beach.
I don't think wearing what you want shows lack of confidence. Only if you're wearing it despite wanting to wear something else.
I dress this way mostly for religious purposes but only because I don't like drawing attention to myself in public, i like being comfortable and those kinds of dresses make me comfortable, and i do like dressing this way, it makes me content.
lol and you raise great points thank you.
Omg what is the relationship between our self-confidence and our clothes that we wear? If so , no body gets me wrong but then the animals , plants or any living organisms except us are the most confident organisms in the Earth lol The self-confidence is the thing that you wear whatever you like , if the we have to talk about dressing , sister.
No, in fact I think it's a sign you respect yourself more. Just because you cover up, doesn't mean an outfit is not elegant or "sexy". You can still be those things fully clothed, if other people cannot respect that, that's their problem.
You like to dress modest. Nothing wrong in it. It's elegant instead. I also dress mostly like that.
That's great that you dress like this and you see nothing wrong with it, and you're only 13 wow!🤩. I say this because when I was 13 we were all encouraged to wear short dresses, shorts, because we were told that dressing like that is appropriate for kids, so I admire you for being so young and covering up!.
Well actually in my country especially in my religion (Muslim) girls are encouraged to dress themselves complete. My parents don't mind that and I'm allowed to wear short dresses too. I prefer shorts, skirts or frocks till mid thighs. Nothing shorter than that. However I like to dress up with 1/3 pant and shirt as casuals.
Glad you admire me :) I'm a bit of tomboy so my dressing sense is pretty modest.
I used to be a bit of a tomboy too at 13😊, i experimented with all sorts of fashion styles as a teenager, then at 19-22 I found out that I love wearing all the modest and long girly girly dresses, accessories, coats, etc. I believe that dressing in different styles is what will help you figure out your fashion sense😊.
but i also dress modestly for religious reasons, Thanks for sharing your story with me😊 your response is very very helpful!
You're welcome! I'm glad I was helpful!
Dressing covered up when out is normal besides the beach/pool. Might be a little self conscious if you can't wear a bikini
I don't like drawing attention to myself in public, I don't like when people in public look at my cleavage or exposed bum or thighs which has happened back when i was a teen and i would wear tight short dresses especially because i loved seeing men especially stare at me and approach me telling me how attractive i am, i just like being able to go in public and hang out with whoever i'm hanging out with without being stared at. but also i would totally wear a bikini and other items i listed not to wear in public in private around my partner. if my partner alone stares at me in those outfits and gives me attention that's more than enough for me.
if i'm wearing these long dresses people in public stare at me for wearing those long dresses, for having big hair, or for them thinking i have an unattractive face etc. then I am unbothered because I am completely content with my features and with my long dresses but if I get attention and stares from people in public for wearing a outfit like a bikini then I am bothered it makes me uncomfortable, Those people are strangers to me so i don't want them looking at my boobs and bum cheeks lol I can't. Also I wear the dresses as a way to adhere to my religion and also because they make me comfortable and content.
No it can mean you prefer to dress more modestly. I also dress more modestly and I tend to not show much skin.
I admire that you are a 13 year old who dresses modestly, that's amazing! please keep doing that and don't let the world change you🤩.
you're only 14* sorry dear.
Lol I meant to say you are a 14 year old not a 13 year old*
Thank you! I plan to do that for the rest of my life lol.
Nah, just tell them you're Muslim, and they'll leave you alone.
But then I would be lying... I just prefer being completely honest, if they judge me it's okay i'm used to it.
I also usually dress like this, I'm almost always wearing dresses/skirts. I think that you need more confidence to wear clothes like that because it's not the norm. 😊
Dress the way that you want to and screw everyone that thinks you should change how you dress. Don't become one of these fashion trend sheep that allows everyone else to dress them.
i like to answer this with a quote from John Dorian from "Scrubs" i reply to being asked why he wears shorts in the shower: "shower shorts. for the man who has nothing to hide but still wants to" :D
i don't think there's anythign wrong with being modest. i would actually go out on a limb and say that showing off is "less" confident.
Well, I've come to understand that women tend to dress up more "conservatively" if they're taken, and a little more "liberal", if they're single
I'm not at all a political lady, I dress conservatively because it makes me feel content, comfortable and it's a way to adhere to my religion.
As kong as you feel good it doesn't matter. If covering up make you feel good about you, there is your self confidence
What! Girl you are being modest and elegant, don't buy into their crap of self confidence. You are classy, elegant I am sure beautiful too.
I don’t consider that conservative clothing, conservative clothes hide the collar bone and the full leg and are neutral in colour.
No, modest fashion doesn't mean you have low self-esteem. Besides, if you like how you look in it, then you like how you look.
It does mean that but at the same time if that’s your style it’s totally cool if you wanna dress that way and not show any skin
i cover up sometimes and wear tiny bikinis sometimes depending on how i feel
Wear what makes you happy
Most women don’t have the confidence to wear any skirt or dress.
Wear whatever you want, who cares what others think? Fashion is subjective too. Everyone likes different things and wants to show (or not show) different things and that’s fine.
Can I ask you a question
What
Could you date a great man that only has a average penis size?
I really couldn’t give two fucks about someone’s size. I’m not even sexually active so why would I care
No/it makes you super attractive and imagination comes into play.
No, it’s the way you grew up, and it’s the same for me, I can’t wear certain clothing on the road like everyone else because I don’t feel comfortable and I’m not use to it
You dress well. The others just like to dress slutty.
What you wear is fine... don't pay attention to what others say, so what's comfortable for you.
It very well could mean that. You need to examine why you're doing that to know for sure.
I dress this way because it comfortable, it makes me feel content and it is a way to adhere to my religious practice.
Well, the reason WHY it makes you feel comfortable and content should be examined. That COULD be due to a lack of self confidence. Just saying.
i have confidence, most comments here made me realize that i actually do have confidence i get made fun of for always wearing long dresses and for not wearing revealing swimwear at the beach but non of their comments bother me because i love how i dress. i would only ever wear the outfits i when i am around my partner alone because well, if you know you know😂😊.
none*
i would only ever wear the outfits i listed to never wear in public*
Not at all. Some women just do prefer to be modest and that’s perfectly fine!
You can totally be modest and confident and attractive, etc.
I would say more romantically appealing then sexually. I don't think you should be wearing something just to get sexual attention. But you do you.
You are welcome
Wearing things that cover your body has nothing to do with your confidence. Some girls that wear something tight or shows a lot doesn't define their confidence.
I love it... it's more ladylike. So many women nowadays dress like hookers.
You're the one that knows if you lack confidence or not.
If confidence was in nudity lol then every single person would roam naked lol
Not at all. Length of clothes have nothing to do with confidence.
Not at all dress how you want and what makes you feel comfortable I think it’s nice and classy when a girl dresses modestly
No of course not ^^
You dress in whatever way you are comfortable with <33
people are free to wear whatever they want , it has nothing to do with confidence
No it means you are confident and dont need to show off sexually to get attention.
It doesn't mean you lack it. It more means that you are respecting what you have and you shouldn't advertise what your not giving away.
Not necessarily, it could just mean that you are a more private person
Top dress looks good only if you have big boobs.
Bottom one is better for smaller boobs.
No. It could very well mean the opposite.
No, you are probably just modest
No, it means you have class
You can wear whatever you want.
no it means you don't want every one looking at it
Maybe you just have too much shame.
No, not necessarily.
Insecure about your body it seems and shy
I would happily wear bikinis and other clothing styles i stated not to wear in public in private around my partner alone or even around my own self. but in public i will stick to my conservative dresses.
Women say that.
you're bi
bicycle?
yeah skin is beautyful
I should just stay home then and wear my long dresses there...
