Considering your genetics, do you think you will age well?

I don’t know. I don’t get tanned, I don’t spend too much time on the sun ever since I was 17. My mom is 47 years old and lots of men show interest in her. Her body type always attracts men’s interest, even if there are much younger girls around, my mom has a tiny waist and sexy hips. She’s also pretty, she has bluish green eyes and pink hair hehe
However my face shape might make me look not so young in future, because I don’t have a round face, round faces tend to make you look much younger, my ex fiancé had a round face, however there’s also a benefit, if my son inherits my face shape, he will be quite attractive.
I also have darkness under eyes which always made people think I was tired.
So I guess I can only hope.
I think having money and having been smart enough to make certain correct decisions in life make a lot of difference. Genetics, I feel is like only 30 to 40 % of the picture. The rest is what you've done to your body (lifestyle, stress levels, past injuries and diseases or chronic illnesses, etc.).
This and luck and all play a part. They say that if you constantly wear sunscreen everytime you are out and about, you'll have a better chance of not having such bad skin as you age. Lastly, I think it is also your diet, sleep quality, etc. etc.
Thanks for MHO. 🙂

My parents are at their late 70s and they look younger than their age. They take care of themselves though. So sometimes it’s not always genetics. It’s up to you to keep up too.
Yes, I am at the age where I should be aging and I haven't even started aging at all. My father looks 15-20 years younger than he is and he isn't even in the best of health. My mom looks about 5-7 years younger. My aunt never got grey hair and she died suddenly just shy of 60.
I come from a helath-conscious family and I don't smoke, drink or sleep around. For women, the last one is important because having many foreign pH levels introduced into your reproductive system is harmful.
So so far so good.
I get mistaken for being a decade younger all the time, so I think my face definitely has the potential to age well. Not sure about the rest of my body though. I’m not as big as Tess Holliday or the girl from my big fat fabulous life however, I’m definitely a big girl and trying to get that under control so that might be a bit of a struggle 😄
Dad lived to be 42. He was a good-looking man; the ladies of his youth have told me so. Ooh la la!
Lol.
Mom just passed at almost 98.
I'm told that I look quite young and that I exude a "presence" among others.
I laugh my ass off every time I hear that "presence" description.
I've heard it from numerous people, though, so...
Lol.
How the hell do I know if I'll age well? 👍😊🔥
Appearance - yes. Longevity - no.
Everyone in my family looks / looked very young. When I was 50, people told me I looked like late-20s to early 30s. Others in my family are much the same.
On the other hand we don't live to ripe old ages. None of my close relatives have made it to 85 that I'm aware of. Although there are some I don't know how old they were when they died.
My father came close to 85, but didn't quite make it. When he was in ICU before he died, the nurses kept mentioned how he did NOT look his age. Besides his face, he still had a lot of muscle mass - far more than you'd expect for someone his age.
I think I do pretty well for some reason even though I drink like a lunatic and say really fucked up stuff all the time. Like me when I was 21:
Me when I was 38:
Some people including my wife seem I look younger the older I get, although I am getting slightly wider and my teeth aren't as white and I have a few gray hairs if you look up close.
My brain isn't aging as well though. I might need to stop drinking. I am losing control of any semblance of a filter I have. I just blurt things out. You know when you are younger, you care more about what other people think about what you say. So you stop and think before you say it. I've almost entirely lost that.
I keep looking for that ceiling though. Lots of us Japanese have this ceiling where we go from looking very young to being hunch-backed with pure white hairs overnight. Usually happens around 80 but with all the drinking I've done, I sometimes expect it to happen to me around 50.
My father's side of the family live until their mid - nineties... and I will probably follow suit... and age well...
Nikki... knock off the pop corn and get off the couch! ROFLMAO
Well I hate popcorn so I am safe there. Ha!
😁👍
Yeah I'm approaching my mid 20s and since I'm Asian (pfp isn't me), I still look like I'm in highschool. I think I'll remain very youthful for the next few decades of my life until andropause, but even then, I should still look young for my age.
Unfortunately since my mother died when she was young I couldn't see her old version so I don't know what genetic legacy she left me but her older sisters still look young and pretty so I think I'll age well assuming my mom has the same genetics as them.
Yes definitely. My mom and grandma still look great for their age so hopefully I'll take after them
I don't know I worry about my face all the time, but I think that makes it worse.. my dad aged alright my mom not so much so who knows lol
I believe I'm ageing gracefully. I'm a half Asian woman in my early 30s. I still wear the same size as in my early 20s and people think I'm at least 10 years younger than my actual age.
When I look at my 19 years older mother, I guess I will. Keeping weight and body shape seems not to be a problem of women in my family.
In white and not the best with sun screen so I feel that puts me at a bit of a disadvantage tbh
I think I will. My parents look younger and my sisters too. I've been told many times that I don't look 30.
I got away with using a "recent" photo that was over 25 years old two years ago. I guess I'm fairly well preserved.
To be honest, I've looked like I was in my late 40's since I was in my late teens. Even now in my late 40's I look little different.
I got good genes from my father. He and all his siblings (except for one) all died in their 90s.
Seeing how my parents are 70 but people think they’re 50 and I’m 32 yet people think I’m mid twenties? Yeah I guess so
Yup, I look at my mom and she's who I am most similar too. She in her 80's and looks great.
