No, people that wore that were part of a very specific sub culture and usually of Mexican or African American origin. It wasn't a common thing.

Many girls wear summer dresses and skirts when the warm weather starts. They don't look like "old ladies". They look fabulous.

Many girls don't dress with those outdated ugly old lady dresses looking boring and like a nun.

Many would imply at least the average woman would dress like that but that isn't the norm as that dress style was in style 80 plus years ago when it was the norm.

Our fashion as a society is different as each era brings their own fashion styles.

Boring is now. Sea of black yoga pants, gray sweatpants, white crop tops, and black hoodies.

There are places where women wear sundresses, but apparently not here. A sundress would make a gal look VERY feminine, but a lot of today's chicks want to be one of the boys, and frankly, most don't have the body for really girly duds.
