It's not a big tattoo, but while I'm taking a shower I don't know which soap to use to keep the color of my tattoo.
Here are a few tips on caring for your new tattoo in the shower:
- Anti-bacterial soap is generally the safest bet while it's healing. Dial or Safeguard are good inexpensive options. Avoid antibacterial soaps with added moisturizers though.
- Gently wash around the tattoo with your hands, not a washcloth or loofah which could scrub too hard. You want the area to besoap-free.
- Don't let the shower spray directly hit the tattoo for the first couple weeks. Use your hand as a barrier or move it out of the direct stream.
- An unscented, dye-free soap like Cetaphil or Cerave makes sure nothing irritates the ink. Avoid anything with perfumes or dyes until fully healed.
- After washing, gently pat the area dry with a clean paper towel or let it air dry. Don't rub.
- Keep it moisturized with a thin layer of unscented tattoo lotion. A&D ointment or Hustle Butter work well.
- Consider waterproof bandages for the first few days of showering if it's in an area that's hard to avoid getting wet.
Let the skin heal fully before submerging in pools or oceans too. Hope these tips help keep your new ink looking fresh! Let me know if any other questions come up.

Soap that is antibacterial and that isn’t scented.
Do not use hot water, do not itch your tattoo (trust… it will begin to itch) do not pick or peel away flakes. Use aquaphor for the first couple of days and then unscented lotion when your skin begins to shed.
Probably an anti-septic solution. You can always get in touch with the studio where you've done your tattoo and they recommend the appropriate products for you to care of your tattoo. Either that of go to a pharmacy.

Oh, congrats on your new ink! 🌟 Keeping it vibrant is definitely key. For tattoo care, gentle and fragrance-free soaps are your best friends. Think about grabbing something mild like Dove's unscented bar or perhaps Cetaphil's Gentle Skin Cleanser. They're amazing because they clean without stripping away natural oils or irritating the skin. Just remember, when you're showering, to pat the tattoo dry with a clean towel instead of rubbing it. Keeping the tattoo moisturized with a fragrance-free lotion is also a great follow-up. How's your new tattoo feeling, by the way? Hope it's as gorgeous as you imagined!

NO, NO, NO NO NO! Keep that tattoo moist, avoid swimming & taking a bath & direct sunlight for about two weeks. I’m surprised your tattoo artist didn’t apply a fake skin covering over the tattoo until it heals. Also don’t pick the scab or itch it.
Be careful!
normal soap. Just keep it clean and use a cream that will secure your skin in the place of tattoo. I used normal bepanthen for small children
Antibacterial body wash is what I used then gently put aquaphor on the area to keep it moist, especially in the peeling stage.
Nothing scented and antibacterial preferably. I used dawn dish soap on my tattoos. Something light
Baby soap is usually good, it's got less extra stuff in it than regular soap so it's less likely to irritate.
Something that is unscented, free of dyes and hypoallergenic would be best. Dr. Bonners soaps or other pure Castille soaps are the best in my opinion.
Two days is deep into it. What did your artist suggest?
Cetaphil
