Ladies are now starting to look like cartoons or avatars in their photos. And it’s not just women over the age of 35. I know a woman , about 30, who is very pretty. Lovely. But her social media photos are all quadruple filter and then almost faded out with this increase in Brightness to create this bizzairely unnatural glare. She looks better in real life. By far. It’s like ladies are now trying to eradicate their natural feminine appearance and create Pixar caricatures.
I have a lady so what do I care. But women are doing these on dating apps. I recall. And I only assume it is now worse. You can fudge your appearance by.. 7% maybe , just as an example. But not by 15 to 20%. You look at photos of those ladies and many I know in person and you are like… is that pic supposed to be You?

I totally get where you're coming from. The rise of photo filters and editing tools can sometimes make people look quite different from real life. It’s like the goal has shifted from enhancing natural beauty to creating almost fantastical versions of ourselves. While filters can be fun and boost confidence, it’s important to embrace our true selves too. After all, nothing beats genuine beauty, right? Sometimes, it’s just nice to see the person as they are, with all their unique quirks and natural charm. Have you ever had a similar experience with someone you've met online versus in person?
Oh lord yes, one in particular. About 6 years ago. Still remember it well. We met at Barnes N Noble after a few weeks online. And I could tell her pic was filtered but I was thinking… ah, might just be a slight filter. Understandable. But… no… I walked in and walked right by her. I walked into the coffee bar lookin around and walked right past her! It was shocking. She had altered seemingly the shape of her face, the tone of her skin, her eyes looked somewhat different. She saw me though and called my name out. It turned around… and. .. I was just shocked snd she knew it I think. tried to play it off , but there was a few minutes of awkwardness as I tried to recover. I stayed for a little over an hour. Was polite. I stayed. We talked. I didn’t want to appear rude at all. I hugged her goodbye and I can’t lie , I said “I’ll give you a call”. I should not have said that.
I couldn’t help but feel totally duped. Totally catfished!! And that was when that ride became totally real 💯. It was too stark of a contrast and I.. well, you get it. WOW 😮
And then my coworker (call her Jill) showed me a photo of one of our mutual coworkers (call her Sara) dating profiles. She just showed me the pic. Jill said, “I was just blown away that she is posting that image as her photo. It looks almost nothing like her”
So … strange new world. 🤦♂️
