Do guys wear ties at all anymore?

I was looking for a last minute stocking stuffer for my boyfriend. I saw what I viewed as a cute tie. I know that my man wears ties every now and then, but many times he does not? He just wears a shirt and blazer some of the time. Is a tie a good gift for a guy? Do guys wear them anymore at all? I know that they still sell a lot of ties. Is there a reason for this?
