A crush is like wanting something even though you know you'll never have it. If it's a small crush, you're fine, you'll survive. But if you're crazy about him/her, you're dead, you'll be tortured. You'll try to let go but you can't anymore. That's the worse part isn't it? It's not some-thing, it's some-one. If you like him/her enough, you start tellig yourself that they're The One but you know it's not possible because you don't know how the other feels. You want to know so bad, you watch for signs all the time, you get crazy, you get obsessed. And you daydream, you daydream about those "signs" being truth that him/her is interested in you too.
But what if you've read it wrong? (You ask yourself sometimes)
But you're confident that you're right ad you go ahead, you try to impress him/her, try to get him/her to talk to you, tell you the "confession" you're expecting. If you can't wait any longer and you have the guts, you confess.
And most of the time,
you're rejected,
you break.
BUT YOU STILL LIKE HIM/HER!

I had a huge crush. I didn't have any confidence at the time so I decided to be friends. It was awkward when we went dancing because I really liked it. She never found out. Now she moved and I feel like something is missing. This the only girl I've ever felt regret for not asking her out.
There was this girl i used to work with. We hung out a little bit but now she got another job and I still think about her and she's gone its been a long time. I think we had a real connection. Guess I'm fucked
What about the part when you ask him/her out instead of "confessing"?
Well in the places that I've lived, mostly you'll hear of confessions, but basically I mean both
