Felt bad-wish he could've said yes
Didn't want to- was trying to be nice

To be honest, maybe if you had worded it differently, he would have wanted to say yes; maybe.
For future reference, never try to get someone to hang out with you by saying, 'you owe me.' It makes you sound rude and entitled.
he didn't even give you a reason so "not today" comes across as "not ever". He is saying no and he isn't even being nice about it
He actually ended up asking me out a couple weeks later just still trying to figure out his thinking cause he is much older then me and hard to decipher his meanings to things through text 😬
Well that's good! I wouldn't continue to dwell on it then as you have both moved past it. If it really still bothers you, you should just ask him why he said no when you asked him out
He actually had plans but dude his texting is crazy different from the way he looks at me in person it's like he goes into a trance when he sees me and like all my coworkers are starting to point it out
If he wanted to say yes but had other plans, his answer would not have been so curt.
You keep using that word. I do not think you know what it means.
