My Crush asked me if I had a boyfriend? Read details cause their is a bit more to it?

So i sit at a table with this boy and a few other people and I kinda have a crush on him, and the other day we were all getting a head start on our assignment and it had been quiet for a couple of seconds and the boy I have a crush on out of the blue asked me, "Do you have a boyfriend?" We had not been talking about anything near the subject whatsoever and I glanced up at him and said, "No..." with a slight hint of confusion to my voice.

Now, I am 15 and find it a little pointless to date at my age but still I wouldn't mind if my crush liked me back. I have never had a boyfriend in my life as well so I don't know what any of this means.

After I responded, he pretended like he didn't hear me and was describing what he thought he looked like, and described a pretty weird persona, which really confused me but also made me laugh. He then was joking around with the other kid at my table about this (boy as well), and then they eventually stopped. What does this mean?

evidence not that he likes me: (since i have zero confidence i think he doesn't like me)
makes jokes about me (I also heard that was proof but idk) their not like really mean or anything
Like has friends with popular people and is like medium popular and I am just friends with like everyone unpopular and some popular people, so I am like between extremely unpopular and medium popular.
He could do way better than me
Has probably plenty of other girls to pick
