Sending a "Happy birthday" message to someone who rejected me in the past?

I know it's kind of stupid, and normally I wouldn't care and just post "Happy Birthday" on his wall on facebook or something. But he ignored a message I sent him once already, so I don't want him to think I'm still after him and make a fool of myself. Should I just post it like I do when other friends have birthdays or not to do anything about it? Help! :)

It wasn't very clear in the question, I'm not interested in him anymore, but we used to talk a lot before, this is why I was considering it in the first place. But I guess sending him something does look desperate so I won't do it.

what the heck,...ladies ladies...are you kidding me? sending a "happy birthday" does not seem desperate at all...what the hell - its a friendly gesture,...i can't believe every single girl said not to...who cares, if you aren't into him anymore and you're just friends, why the hell not - you're all over analyzing the situation...

and whose the say he ignored you? maybe he checked it quick, had to run real fast and meant to respond but forgot? by the time he realized he forgot to respond he didn't want to feel weird by replying weeks, months, later, maybe he doesn't get many inbox messages and just randomly forgot...

i really don't see the big deal in wishing him a happy birthday if you don't have feelings for him anymore...honest to god, what's teh harm in that...

now...if you do have feeling and are expecting something back, then dont...you want to protect yourself, but hey there is NOTHING wrong with wishing someone you used to talk to often a happy birthday...i have NO idea what these girls are talking about...

Lol thanks....i mean I can see if she had evidence of him intentionally ignoring him then id say eh screw it he doesn't deserve your wish...but you know what, sh*t happens, people aren't always doing things intentionally to p*ss someone off - I'm not saying people don't do that, but I mean come on its just a happy bday ya know....i think you should wish it to him, if he doesn't say anythign back, eh whatever...just be who you are and go with your gut!!

Hey, wish him a Happy Birthday if you want to. Don't if you don't feel like it.

Get in the non-serious frame of mind when you send him the Bday message - "Happy Birthday! Have a good one!"

My last birthday, I went out to the bar and some of my friends met up with me, but others didn't. A couple girls from work texted me Happy Birthday and I was happy about it because it was a really nice thing for them to do.

i don't think its desperate. especially if all you say is Happy Birthday! and infact it might seem kinda weird that you say happy birthday to everyone BUT him.. so I say do it just don't go on saying HAPPY BIRTHDAYYYYY ILYYYY <3 haha

I was in a similar situation a few months ago (with my ex)... follow murphy's law when dealing with situations like this.

If it's possible for him to misinterpret his good HE WILL.

Don't make the same mistake as me... I ended up making myself looking desperate (even though I was genuinely wishing her a happy birthday).

Why go OUT OF YOUR WAY to wish somebody the best when they obviously don't care about you?

Haha it's weird- I'm in exactly the same situation today. only difference is that I still like him.... this sounds like a good idea. except doing that might show it actually bothered you he didn't reply and that you still remember it. unless you still really like him, I'd say don't bother... u've casually "forgotten" to say anything :) or if you do make it late at night and just a happy birthday! :)

I agree with Cheshire. Don't humiliate yourself with him, as he might not aknowledge you again. Forget him, as he obviously has forgotten about you. It's much more meaningful to say Happy Birthday to someone who appreciates it anyway, right?

It's not about wasting effort on him, I have no interest in someone who isn't interested in me. I guess I'm just worried about being polite, cause overall he's a nice guy (and he was very nice to me, except for that time), that's why I can't decide :(
