Is cosplay catfishing?

So this girl I know told me to cosplay with her but the cosplay has a wig. She said it's okay if I wear a wig who cares, with a wig or not I'm still really attractive. But I don't want to catfish people into thinking I really do have bright green hair that goes past my nose or that I actually do have a perfect jaw.
But if someone does think it is catfishing and they fall for me in that green wig and when I take it off my hair is blonde or purple, and then they get upset and call me a catfish... Doesn't that mean they're just a shallow piece of shit? It's not like I used someone else's picture taped to my face as I walk around it's just cosplay and for fun! Right?
