Boyfriend being sweet only when drunk?

My boyfriend of two months has told me straight off that bat that he doesn't like being to romantic with saying sweet things, and I'm fine with that cause I'm the same way, except when he's drunk he sends me really romantic texts. Why does he only do this when he's drunk? Does that make what he says less true or real?

I agree with what TheGoodTheBadTheHot said. He's probably too shy to express his feelings and people are more open-minded when there drunk most likely he isn't too drunk as people do super crazy things when they are too messed up. Usually if someone is really really drunk they'll be aggressive and won't be reasoned with. But that's probably what it is, he's too shy to tell you when he's sober, just talk to him about it and try to make him more open.

When you're drunk the truth comes out. Hence the term, the drunken truth. He obviously cares about you a lot, his sober personality just doesn't know how to -or like- expressing these feelings.

Yeah but aren't people also a bit more likely to over exaggerate when their drunk.

Depends how you think of it, are they exaggerating when they're drunk and have no inhibitions or are they under exaggerating while sober because they think that's what they should be doing?

Haha. Well, his inhibitions are down when he's drinking, so he's more apt do do things uncharacteristic of himself. Enjoy the romantic texts while they last. :)

No, it's true. He feels awkward saying things like that when he's sober. Being drunk lowers his inhibitions so he doesn't have qualms about expressing himself.
