Guys does adding a girl on Facebook mean anything?

So there's a guy at my kickboxing class that I partnered up with about two months ago when I was pretty new to it. He was very nice and helpful and we talked while we were partnered together, like I asked about his career etc. And we generally got on well.
Since that I have said hello and bye to him when we are both at training and I smile at his across the room etc but I haven't had a chance to partner him again or chat properly because I am pretty shy and I think he seems to be too.
Anyway I haven't seen him at training for a couple of weeks but he sent me a friend request on Facebook a couple of days ago (I obviously accepted) and I guess I'm wondering if it means anything? I know it's a silly question, go easy on me, I don't know much about guys but I obviously do fancy him and I'm sure he's seen me checking him out in class 😅😯 but yea just interested if guys will randomly friend girls they know or if this might mean I have a chance!

It really doesn't mean anything to me, when a girl adds me to facebook, cause everyone is just out for the numbers. I have had many girls on my facebook, and never spoke to them or socialised with them.

I just see facebook as a numbers games with people these days, to be honest i find it quiet sick, how some people can add someone they don't even like, i have seen some girls do that.

Being kinda shy myself especially with people I may like, its a lot easier to talk to someone online at first, in fact I've done something similar but nothing came of it. So i guess maybe text him or something?

He may like you but there’s no way to be sure of it from a friend request alone. It seems many people just add others for the sake of networking these days. But if he likes you, you can be sure he’s checking out your pictures. Has he liked or commented onany of them yet?
