Which is it? I keep hearing the expressions "absence makes the heart grow fonder", and "time heals all wounds", but they kind of contradict each other in my eyes. I mean does time apart from someone you love make you love them more? Or make you move on and out of love with them?

The great thing about those two quote is that they do not contradict each other at all the saying goes

"Time Heals all wounds but scars last forever"

meaning that there will always be "scars"(things) that will remind you of your pain even after the wound has a long healed as for the other quote

" Absence makes the heart grow fonder"

Is also true we all experienced missing someone we love and when we see them again were Overjoyed to be reunited but The greatest and most terrifying and worst thing about love is that its a CHOICE!

Those 2 quotes actually contradict one another..it only applies on different situations..also..it somewhat case to case

Absence makes the heart grow fonder: is for two people who are in a committed, serious relationship who love and understand each other, but who are apart for a certain amount of time. When they return to each other, they will be more excited and feel for their partner more.

Time heals all wounds: is for two people who break up. Once a certain amount of time passes, they will feel better about the break up and can finally move on.

What if a couple is taking some space to evaluate their life? Time apart could either hurt or heel the relationship...

That is a good question. I think in that case, it can go either way. It depends on how strong the rel really is. But, usually when a couple experiences time apart to help evaluate things, it is not a good thing... or is it?

I'm in situation where my boyfriend and I recently had a misunderstanding.I said something in front of his friends at a dinner table and it didn't sound right and was a bit sexual but I apologized and called and messaged him after that and said sorry but he didn't reply and blocked me on facebook. so any suggestions why is he turning his back on me? would the time heal his wound or is he trying to say we are done?

Time doesn't necessarily heal all wounds. Ever heard of a grudge?
