How to tell the difference between just friends and possible crush?

OK, I've had this best friend who is a girl, who I hang out with everyday. We've been good friends for a couple of years now, and we text each other and flirt with each other a lot. I've liked her since day one, and I know she's has had a crush on me before. I kinda wanna get something started with her, but I can't tell whether she wants me as just friend or as a lover. The flirting has just become routine.

Is there anything girls usually do to distinguish guys who are "JUST friends" and "crushes"? Anything that I could use to see where her interests lie in our relationship?

I think you may just as well tell her that you like her. I mean if she's been you're friend for a couple of years, she should respect you enough to tell you whether or not she likes you back and not want to ruin a friendship over it.

I have told her, but that was a while ago. We had a falling out this summer, and we just recently became best friends again. Since our friendship is still kinda shaky, I'm not sure I want to express my feelings upfront to her again.

this could go either way, and fast.your best bet is to talk to her about it and see what she has to say and what she does after you do tell her. if she continues to flirt and not take you up on anything then she is a tease and enjoys flirting with you because flirting is really fun. if she reciprocates your feelings then you can try the whole dating thing and see what happens. girls are really vague about distinguishing those kinds of things, because (like everybody) attention is really appealing to us. talk to her about it and see what happens then.

If a girl likes a guy more than friend, she is going to contact him more, hang out with him more with out a group of friends, she is going to remember everything about him, teases him, give him nickname and allow him to touch her, hug or give her a kiss. When I like a guy as a friend, I will not contact him much, always hang out with him and group of friends and never allow him to be near me as much. Just look at her eyes and if she can keep eye contact with you and give you a shy smile mean she have more than friendship feeling toward you.

Nope. If you're flirting, I think you're more than friends. She had a crush on you before, so she probably still does. Have any of your crushes ever gone away? Your under 18, so easy on the 'lover' language. If you like her, just show her. Don't tell her, but just show her. Maybe do something sweet for her, or bring her flowers. Well I'm sorry to break it to you, but if you two have been friends for a couple of years, it's more likely she sees you as a brother and not as a potential boyfriend. Though it is possible that she might still have a crush on you. I think it would just be better off if you asked her if she would like to be more than friends with you.
