Come on. You never had a guy come up to you then he tries to press your buttons. it means he's trying to seduce you. Seducing means hey I really like you and I'm trying to get you to go to bed with me. I had plenty girls who I talked too then soon after another guy comes up to her then he starts pressing her buttons then she leaves with him then sleeps with him. I have lots of experiences when hey girl comes to me she talks to me then soon after another guy butts in on us then he does his job to press her buttons then soon after she leaves my table and leaves with him.
I am totally refractory to that type of approach and would never allow a guy (or girl) to come close enough to "press my button". I guess that, because I am not into that type of approach, I don't know the finesse of that type of language.

What happens is that many guys are desperate, thirsty and very hungry so the girls do not need to make any effort, and do not have the time to ''press any buttons''. When you are attractive, but never desperate. Women act very differently around you, and have the space to make some effort. Just as women can smell desperation, they can also smell a lack of it too.

It really depends on motivation and relative scarcity (which go hand in hand). If she is really attracted to a guy and perceives him as a catch for whom she would be competing with lots of other women, she will take the initiative and make the effort. But, again, she has to perceive him as worth the effort to do that.
