Girls, do you ever exaggerate your level of interest?

Lately the girls I've been talking to haven't been playing it cool with me, they've been practically telegraphing their interest. Doing cutesy stuff that you would think would be something a teenager would do.

Flirting as a man is sometimes showing a sort of deliberately exaggerated level of interest. As a man it's a easy move to sort of go overboard with a compliment or sign of affection to put the target off balance, because while she will appreciate the compliment, the grandiosity or forwardness of it might get the girl to second guess herself, to think to herself that the man might flirt like that with everyone. Because the level of attention is obviously deliberate and undeserved.

Anyway, I'm wondering if girls do the same thing. Like maybe a girl will text something too cutesy as if she's smitten, when in reality she's kinda like "meh" but she's bored and she hasn't had a boyfriend for a while. I guess what I'm wondering is if women are capable of emulating that sort of unconscious signal.

I kind of think the last two girls were actually young and naive enough to telegraph themselves, but like, what if they weren't?

I used to think that women's interest wears off pretty quickly, but this idea that women send fake signals is intriguing...
