Guys; What makes you chase a girl?

I like this guy at work. We speak on friendly terms and i think he flirts with me sometimes. He found my work badge that had my number and texted and asked if it was mine and gave it back to me. I want to pursue him but know it’s risky since we’re coworkers.. but i accept that, i really like him though. What can I do to get him to be more into me? What can I do to get him to pursue me? Im scared to be the one to make the move and i know he’s not a shy person as I am and his personality is outgoing.

I just talk to a girl I find pretty and if she's into what I'm saying, and I'm into what she's saying, then I ask her out. I don't see what's so complicated. I kinda saw it as complicated when I was like 15 years old but now I think, "What an idiot I was!" It's so simple!

Why do you want him to pursue you though? If he has other options, shouldn't he find one that doesn't require him to chase them around?

If I felt like a girl was playing games with me and hiding her interest in me when I was younger, I erred on the side that she wasn't interested. Why chase her and risk being like a borderline stalker for a girl who might not even like me? I like the ones who make it clear that they like me and then it's just a matter of choosing which ones I like best among those I don't have to chase.

... notable exception though for really exceptional girls like a world-famous actress, movie stars, artists, dancers, scientists, historians, etc. Then maybe I want to pursue them a little bit, but always with care not to be like a stalker. But only because they are so exceptionally different from most women who show interest in me.
