How often do you get compliments?

I sometimes do get compliments, but they feel empty and forced by people. Most likely because people critisize me a lot. May be due to my own negative experiences with people. With work I get a lot of compliments because I;m one of the better workers in the company, But they also punish me for my good work by refusing PTO because they consider me indispensable in the workplace and cannot do without me at some busy times. Which kinda makes me annoyed. So at summer or Christmas moments (June - September & November - January) I'm almost unable to take any PTO, but others get allowed their PTO. Last time I had to mention "thinking about leaving the company when this is the way it works with people who work hard/efficient" to my manager to get my PTO for 1 day. Yes, 1 only asked 1 day off and they even refused that in the beginning.

I am a guy... Beside compliments from my wife! I never get any compliments. ''Good job'' at work is another kind of compliment. Maybe once or twice a year when am at bars/restaurants some women might compliment my beard but that's all.

At my job? All the time! They appreciate my mind and performance, and my colleagues seem to really appreciate me! 😊
Now if you mean complimented on my looks? Rarely, if ever. But... at least I have my brains and personality so... yay for that?

When I got straight A's my dad complimented me once and when I got a B in math my dad criticized me 200 times a day. My mother on the hand has never complimented me even once in my entire life but criticizes me a hundred times a day.

Depends on if I'm going out and interacting. Whenever I'm out and about and interacting with people, I get a lot of people letting me know they like something about me (not even looks most of the time).

However, since I've been cooped up inside as of late, I don't get many now :P

Well I barely ever go out so not often, but I usually do when I talk to someone 1 on 1 for a while for the first time. It's usually something like "How are you so knowledgeable?" Or "You have really nice eyes."
