How do I respond to flirtatious lines?

I am so poor at flirting. Thing is I think I am flirtatious but I’m not in the right way.

Today, I ask the guy I like for a favour and he replies with “what will you do for me?” Smiles and winks and I just said “oh” he kinda backed straight off then thinking I was offended. We talk for ages he gives me his full focus. He’s definitely in to me but I feel my reactions shoot him down at every attempt and I don’t know how to not. I don’t mean to. What would you have said in that situation

Here is the thing. Ask him out directly and tell him you like him. Don’t play games… Especially if you feel like maybe he’s taking things the wrong way. It could cause him to loose interest. You’re probably not the only girl whose into him. Last thing you want is for him to loose interest and ends up being with someone else.

It’s a tricky situation. No judgement please but I am his manager in a very professional environment so I can’t really be full on with him

Asker I understand. If you don’t feel like you should pursue a romantic relationship then don’t. Or be direct.

That may also be how he feels. He may want to pursue something but is too worried that you will shoot him down and it will cause trouble in the workplace. So he may be moving on.

Sometimes you have to take a chance. Some things in life are a gamble. Some maybe are worth the risk and other things aren’t. But I think maybe you should just check the policies on romantic relationships in the workplace. And just talk to him about it.
