Is a guy interested in you if he always greets you?

Is a guy interested if whenever he sees you, he always says (and sometimes smiles), “have a night day” or “have a nice night” or “have a great weekend” or “have a nice one?”

If this happens every time you see him, is he just being friendly or interested?

Without additional context, I can only say this seems to be a friendly gesture as there does not seem to be any flirty undertones.

Does he reach out and start a conversation with you afterwards? Does he give you a wink? Is this said only in passing? Where is this taking place? Even more important is how are you feeling about him?

If you would like to get to know him more and explore this relationship further, it's a good idea to also reciprocate his actions and maybe greet him back. If he's not your cup of tea, then no need to engage further.

He recently started greeting me, before he would just stare. What happened was, I caught him staring and I looked away, but when I looked back, he was still staring, so I gave him a small smile. Ever since then, he’s been greeting me. But I can’t tell if he’s just being nice or if he’s interested

I say hi to people and people I respect or feel altruistic emotions for. I also do it as a courtesy to protect my reputation by being friendly with neighbours so they will not have a grievance towards me.

No. Not always. Maybe you’re just one of the few women who actually acknowledges him w out making him feel like a creep or something just for greeting you. A lot of women do that to men. I greet a lot of women at work, but it’s the same ones each day because I know they will respond or smile. The ones who had bitchy attitudes I just walk past w no acknowledgement.

Depends on the context of the meeting , Is he working in a shop? Or just walking down the street? What is the social environment in which he says this? How often are you seeing him?

Really impossible to know. Ask yourself why you care to know, if you find its because you would like him to like you more, then make some enquries about his single status. When you do that you'll soon learn if its just being nice or something more.
