How to ask a shy guy for his socials or his number?

So there’s this guy who’s been working at a family friends company during holiday times and I’ve grown to have a crush on him and via feedback from friends I’m sure it’s the same for him. But we are at a point where there’s not much left for me to do apart from ask for his number or his socials. But. He is pretty shy. I am too but he’s a bit worse. So I feel asking straight up might not be the best idea. I’m looking for a way to slide it into a convo so it’s more natural

If you know what his interests and hobbies are, then take some time to study the matter and get knowledgeable about those.

During a casual conversation, try to bring the conversation onto those topics and that should lead to a deeper conversation.

That is when you can ask for his number with the excuse that you would love to talk about it other than just on a face-to-face basis.

If he is more shy than you, then you have to make the first move or else nothing will ever happen.

You could also try to find out his social media through a common friend. Once you have them, you can try to slide into his social media by following him.

As @sueshe said it's best to get on his level, get him comfortable with you and find out what his hobbies and interests out, talk to him about them, find that common interest, once he starts talking more or waffling on then you have got him out of his shy zone with you, start with asking for his social media, that way you will find out more about him and then ask for his number, that way if a date does happen you should be at a point to be more comfortable about talking about whatever
