I've always tried to have an open ear and be supportive, maybe offer advice. Sometimes I ask the person what's so special about their crush or why do they like them. One person I was best friends with once, yick! It was Bill this and Bill that--he was the only topic of conversation, and if I change the subject, it was like this... "Have you been getting a lot of junk mail?" and she would say, "Yes, all the time! Bill said he is always getting junk mail." One time I told her I was taking my puppy to the vet for his parvo shot, and she got Bill back into the conversation. It was something like "Your Yorkie is so cute! Bill has a Pug and he's always licking me." Aye!

I wanted to slap my head against my forehead! I try to be respectful to people and listen to them when they talk about their crush. Sometimes though, it can get repetitive!

My best friend never seems to have any interest in women. Probably wouldn’t notice them at all. Most of them are just a hassle to him. He’s on the spectrum and doesn’t understand facial expressions or much subtlety, so most women just complicate things for him.


Other friends, it’s my chance to be happy for most of them. And with guy friends, especially those who have had trouble with women, I am really happy for them… and I want to know details - how they met, etc. I love seeing pictures of them together; I’m rooting for success (and it’s the only real way I can find out how they did it, maybe try to pick up some pointers). I don’t have any luck, so it’s good to hear someone is. And most are really good guys, so it’s nice to hear.

Depends on who the friend is and on who the crush is. Some I'm happy for and enjoy hearing their stories. Others sound too off-the-wall crazy and seem so ridiculous you'd think both my friend and the crush would somehow be smart enough to bail.

To be honest, I'd be so happy because my friend didn't even have a crush on someone in years. So, I'd be excited and ask to tell me everyday in detail!

It's a very rare sight for me, it doesn't happen often and I never really understood her tastes in men anyway so I'm a bit puzzled when it happens. Plus she's very down to earth, so it gives usually a scenario where I'm basically listening, more or less cluelessly. With very few moments where I can relate but it doesn't last for long 😂

With most people, friends or buddies, I generally don't relate to any crush recounted, unless we share a similar profile
