Should I follow the guy from my uni bus after that eye contact?

I took this bus to uni for five years and this guy always took it too.
After my graduation party i went to this restaurant with my friends and went to the bathroom but it was packed so i waited outside. He walked past me and we made eye contact. He caught me off guard because i didn’t know he was also my age since we study different majors. Then i looked at him again to make sure it was him and found him checking me out.
On my way out he was standing with his friends in front of the bathroom and we made eye contact again and then we left the restaurant and that was it.
I kinda looked for his ig acc and it was hard especially that he doesn’t follow any uni- related accounts.
So now i wanna follow him but i’m scared cuz he comes off as popular and has like 800 followers and only follows 300 T-T
And i’m so scared of being rejected

I mean that you have been kind of stalking him since you went out of your way to try to find his social media, so there must be a particular reason why you went all that way.

Is it that you want to initiate something with that guy? And what consequences for you would it have for you if he rejects you? Would that be the end of the world for you? Would that set you back in a way or another?

Think of what advantages that would bring you to follow a total stranger on a social media.
