How to ask out a girl that lives on your dorm floor?

So I like this girl on my floor. She's super nice, smart, and crazy pretty. First time we talked she recognized me from somewhere and started a convo, and at the end she asked for my name. At one point I asked her to go bowling with me and my roomie and she said she was busy but asked for my number and said she would call me if she could. We didn't end up going bowling but we have texted a bit and she uses a ton of "!" and ":)". Blah blah blah, I said goodnight after texting for a while and she said "You too! :)" So there are hints she likes me. I asked her to go to lunch with me and she was really excited to go. Thing is, she is a foreign exchange student from Italy so she may just we super excited because there is someone talking to her you know? But either way, we went to lunch, had a good time I thought. Does it seem like she is interested?

Now I want to ask her on a date. But how should I do it if she lives only a couple rooms away from me? Should I say something about having a good time at lunch and say I kinda want to get to know her more so how about a date this time? But then say, I know it may be weird because we live on the same floor, so if you don't want that, just say it so we can stay friends.

Or how else should I word it? Thanks!

it's hard to tell at that point wether she likes you or is just being friendly. but you'll have a better answer from her reaction when you ask her out. just walk over there, knock on her door, ask if she's in her room, say you wanna talk to her, and then ask her out when it's just the 2 of you. that's what I would want from a guy!

What would you guess though...friendly or more than friends? I know you don't have much to go off of, but try to be honest. Like what would be most likely from what I said she has done? But if she is on the fence, should I try to hang out with her more before asking her on a date? Or should I just ask for the date and see what she says? What if she doesn't want to date because she would be going back to her home country? :( She is pretty much my definition of the perfect person, so I hope it works out

honestly? I would say she's just being friendly. there's nothing in here that would suggest she's on the fence about you, I think she would be more hot and cold if that was the case. the best approach would be to just ask for the date and see what she says.

also, it doesn't sound like either of you know for sure if/when she's going back to her country. so don't worry about it for now.

Her asking for my number, her texting me with tons of smileys(like one in each of her last 5 texts), her remembering me and starting the first conversation with me, her being really excited to go out to lunch. Are those not signs whatsoever that she has interest? What is a true sign that a girl likes someone in your opinion? Most girls don't make it obvious so us guys go on what we have to work with... Or do you think girls typically only "want more than friends" after they go on a few dates?

yea I can see how she might have interest. I guess my problem is when someone is really friendly to me sometimes I take it as a sign of interest, but later on it turns out they weren't interested after all. in fact, I just got turned down by one of my guy friends not too long ago. so right now I'm extremely skeptical of any signal short of kissy faces or declarations of love.

my type of flirting is being super friendly, but I'm outgoing either way so I don't think people can tell.
