We stayed up talking all night. What could this behavior mean? I would appreciate any answer!

I'm just curious about this. I met this guy through a mutual friend. We had met before that, but only like twice and it was with a group of people. But I did notice that he looked at me a little more than you usually do with friends.

Anyway, at this party, I was sitting down and he sat down next to me and started talking. We continued talking for about 9 hours (11 pm until 8 am). People around us went home, but we never stopped talking and we barely noticed that it was empty around us. We talked about a lot of deep stuff (and he told me a lot about himself, about his problems etc), which was strange because we don't know each other. It just felt OK and natural at the time.

We ended up going home separately and nothing happened after that. We didn't even exchange numbers.

My question is (obviously): What could this mean? Could he be interested? Or maybe he just wanted to talk to someone?

I did meet him at another party last week and we talked about "that time when we stayed up talking all night", and it was a little awkward. He stayed around me and just seemed insecure and shy. Anyway, nothing happened this time either, so I don't think he's interested.
