How do you avoid getting hit on at work?

Tips and tricks people..i was just looking at this nurse and a bunch of guys are flirting with her.i wanna teller how to avoid it.

Thing is the guys that are hitting on her are old guys ptobly in there 40s and 50s.she looks like she's about 18-20 I'm 18 too and I can tell she's really uncofortavle with them.i think its mostly because the guys are old and unattractive

Ladies if youve bern hit on by older guys you shoulf know that they don't give up as easily as younger ones

i know what you mean.

i used to work at this store when I turned 18 and I would constantly get hit on by guys.

especially those annoying older guys around 40 to 50 years old.

its like come on! Be realistic! what 18 year old is actually going to pay attention to someone that old! no offense to anyone but omg! it was annoying how they didn't take a hint!

ignoring them doesn't work. it just makes the problem worse. I don't know if they feel more intrigued because they think the girl is playing hard to get? my goodness. I don't know what these men are thinking.

lying and saying I had a boyfriend worked on some, but not all. some even told me they didn't care and if I wanted another one. or the infamous, "he doesn't have to know". gross!

my sister told me to be rude if they didn't take a hint. when those gross men hit on her, she makes smart comments to make them feel stupid and it actually works. but since I'm not clever like that, I never tried it.

its frustrating so sometimes I ended up being rude.

im glad I don't work there anymore so I dnt have to deal with those annoying men.

if she's able to come up with clever things to say, tell her to do that.

I always give the poker face , never laugh unless I'm with really close friends , never make eye contact , look bored , disinterested .. this should work all the time , but if those guys are wayy too indecent , then she should yell at them and make them feel really awful about what they are doing like " be a man and stop drolling " .. nothing comes to mind now lol , they usually come when I'm angry :D .. anyway this works a lot , people get intimidated and never approach in disrespectful manners.

Like Yriugni has said, giving a poker face, showing no eye contact and remaining impersonal is a huge put off.

I'd also suggest that she keeps conversations short, give simple answers and don't ask for elaboration. There's also the whole making the old guy aware he's old (which no one likes to be reminded of), like saying, 'Wow, you're the same age as my grandfather!' she could even add in a great there or another could be 'I'm not interested in old men.'

You can't avoid men hitting on you, But sometimes If I don't look directly at them or I will ignore them. But I had one told me say little mama, Followed by junk in the trunk. First time I ever laughed at a guy like that . But I kept walking , Theirs nothing you can really tell her. Guys will be guys. She might not even listen to you if your're a stranger.

You can't. She should be use to it by now, just sayin'. As long as they don't go too far it shouldn't be an issue.

You can' avoid it. Other than to show no interest in the guys at all. (only works sometimes) just look away from them and look bored. look as unimpressed as possible.
