Guys -

How do I handle my crush?

Some Monday mornings I might text him to see how his day is going and he makes me feel like I'm bothering him. So I let him be.

If I haven't emailed him by Thursday or Friday he's on my case like "what you're too busy for me" or " too good to talk to me".

I don't get it.

Why do I have to ignore to get his attention?

Ignoring really only works when the guy is hooked. The idea is actually a lot like fishing. When I go fishing I start by making sure I have the right lure... you guys actually should have a common ground that is appealing to both parties. You cast the line... You get noticed and even talk to him about the said common interest, you can't just text but you need to be in person. The bite... look into his eyes when he talks... are his pupils big or bigger or even grow... that's a nibble. If you hit it off that's a pull. If you hit it off really well and the conversation picks up its a bite. Pull a bit, just a bit... reel in a tad, a small compliment about the topic involving him... like saying "oh well I sure wish I knew you knew so much about fishing earlier" (hahaha as if) and then say you had been trying to go fishing or whatever the topic is earlier that week. Next step is to stop pulling and let the slack go... this is when you ignore him, if you played the cards right he will hit you up to go fishing or what not... keep this reeling and relaxing up for a while... predates or just excuses for him to talk to you... then when the time comes... the first real date, reel that sucker in and make him realize how much you liked him by being interesting and genuine on the first date. to a guy, a first date is the big step... make it forward or backwards depends on you.

Luke, would this work in a breakup situation? My of several months broke up with me and we didn't cintact each other for 2 weeks. I still haven't contacted him, but he sent me two emails last weekend. The first explained why he broke up abruptly (I don't buy it). The second was flirty reminiscent of when we first got together and asking questions. I didn't respond to that one either. What do you think the chances are that he'll contact me again?

if he dumped you without a real reason then he's a shell of a man. If you don't believe it then why is he even worth the chance?

Seems like he is playing with you to me. He loves your attention, but he doesn't really actually loves you. If he was busy on Monday, he might have sounded like occupied and busy, not bothered. And if he was really busy, and even like you (or even if you two are friends), he would have texted you back later on Monday when he was free for some time, and not demanding you why you didn't emailed him all the week.

This is what I conclude from the little information you have provided you to us. If this is really the case that you have to ignore him to get his attention, he is not really into you.

How to handle him? You can't really do much but to acknowledge the fact that he is not that much into you. If he expects you to follow him all the time, don't do that. The relationship should be a mutual on and on equal basis. Don't make him feel like you are "easy-to-get" type of girl, no matter how hot he is.

After few days, he is going to come to his senses. But if he doesn't, there is no point in chasing him. There are other fishes in the ocean.

Possibility #1: Monday mornings are hell for the guy, so try later in the day or evening.

Possibility #2: the guy has some seriously neurotic issues, and you might want to consider finding someone more stable and supportive to crush on.
