Should I ignore him to get his attention?

So there’s this guy I’ve been seeing and we get along so well. Recently he’s been giving me the vibe he’s lost interest and I’m not sure why. I could be wrong but I’m not sure. He still texts me but I think that’s just him being polite. I have spoken to him about it but he just brushes it off. I just want him to put more effort in so I’m thinking to start ignoring his texts to see if he makes more of an effort. Is this a bad idea or should I go for it and see what he does. I’m aware this could result in me not hearing from him again and if that is the case then I guess he was never that into me.

he will notice that you don't text him as much and if he cares he will confront you about it, if not there's your answer
