Hot guy likes me but I'm unnattractive. What are his motives?

Okay so there's this hot guy I know he's like a legitimate 9/10 (hey, just because I'm ugly doesn't mean I'm not a good judge of what's attractive and unattractive).

Myself I'm about a 4/10 to be honest (not exaggerating, I am this skinny tall nerdy girl that has ugly hair and dresses like a hobo)

I don't understand why this guy likes me. I don't even have an awesome personality or sense of humor. Why would a guy that's a very attractive and can get almost any girl he wants like an unattractive girl like me?

okay first of all , it might be you are not really attractive but he has a weird type. I understand being on guard, you should be no matter how attractive or unattractive the guy is. but that does not mean you should not try. Give him a chance. be cautious but it might turn out nice.
you know I met guys who look really hot but underneath it all is just a nerd and awkward themselves. So maybe because you are not pretending to be out of his reach is what gets him. maybe you guys have a lot more in common then what you think.
also guys would find confidence and acceptance attractive. so a reallly pretty girl constantly bringing herself down and fishing for compliments comes across as fake. but you being in peace with yourself might be whats attracting him.

may also add maybe you do just lack self confidence, people are harsher on themselves than others because they know the bad parts, that others just might not notice. soo...

Get to know him very slowly. Don't let your insecurities get in the way of potentially making a connection with a good person, but you do sound very intelligent and you're right to be a bit wary. Keep your wits about you and don't do anything foolish like sleep with him all early and stuff like that. Be cautious as you would any guy and get to know him. especially watch the behavior of his friends and how they act around you. If you feel any funny weird vibes, don't brush that off so easily. His true motives will reveal itself in time. He could be trying to make a joke of you (sadly SOME guys will do this) or he could see beauty in you and like you for deeper qualities than beyond just a cookie cutter hot girl.

It's YOUR opinion that you are unattractive. But the ONLY opinion on that issue that matters here is HIS, and if he's attracted, he's attracted, and your opinion is irrelevant.

You say he's a "9", meaning he's attractive. If another girl said he was a 5, does that make him any less attractive to you? No, right? You still think he's a 9. That's because only YOUR opinion matters in that situation.

Same thing here with his opinion of you.

No, it isn't just my opinion. I'm not the only person that thinks I'm unattractive. He may very well think I'm one of the prettiest girls ever but I wouldn't know that. All I know is that according to society's standards I'm seen as unattractive (not to say that society is always right but that's the scale I'm going from in this instance).

I understand that, but again, the entire world's opinion is irrelevant; only HIS matters, because HE is the one who likes you.

Also, while you make it clear that you don't put a huge effort into your appearance (it seems you think it would be wasted effort), I think he sees past that and sees you as you could be if you tried a little bit. He might also appreciate that you aren't super-shallow as many girls tend to be.

I agree with this comment...take it or leave it. And if you leave it then I guess your only other option which is pretty depressing is your opinion in which you seem to think no matter what your unattractive. What attracts some doesn't attract all. But it still attracts.

I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing to be ugly/unattractive so no it's not depressing to me. Maybe to you it is.
