I'm turning 24, never had a girlfriend?

I'm turning 24 soon and I've never had a girlfriend. And strangely, I'm not disturbed by it at all. I feel like I haven't missed anything. I've been doing my own thing: a year and a half from now, I'll be making figures and that will only climb as I get older based on my profession. I've been pursuing my dreams, education, having fun with my family. Someone about my age recently said to me that they were single for a year and they couldn't take it anymore and started looking for someone and I couldn't understand that.

So the reason why I bring this up is because people are increasingly asking me if/assuming I have a girlfriend. And when I tell them I don't, they're all surprised. And that kind of got me reflecting, because I realized I only have a couple friends and even less female ones.

I've asked out a couple girls in my life but they never turned into anything beyond one date.

Looks-wise, I'd say I'm average at best. But I've had some people tell me that they think I'm the funniest person they know. I can converse pretty well as long as I'm not trying too hard.

Is there something wrong with me if I haven't had a girlfriend yet?

Nothing wrong with you. If you don't try to get one, you won't get one, and it seems like you haven't been trying, that's all. You've been caught up in getting your life in order and haven't had the time for dating. A lot of people do that. I did that as well. I had girlfriends before I went to college because middle school and high school were a joke and required no effort.

After I started college, I sort of drew in socially as far as girls went because I didn't have the time for dating and I'm not the kind of person to seek a one night stand. I would go out with friends every now and then when I had free time, but I honestly didn't have enough time to give to a girl - they'd be upset with how little they saw me.

The funny thing is after I finished my degrees and started working, I decided I didn't like the career path I was on and I've now returned to college to change my career, and I have even less time now than before because I'm doing an advanced professional degree. Except in this time I met a girl, became really good friends, fell in love with her, and now we're dating. At least she understands my time constraints.

There is nothing wrong with you. As said before it seems you just don't try to find a girl right now,and that's OK. I am in the same situation,trying to sort off my life,and then I hope I will go deeper in the "dating game" And I understand you why you don't understand people who just can't be alone,but they are obviously different than us. 100 people - 100 personalities, Anyway I think you should just do your thing. If you feel you need and do want a girlfriend,go for it,just don't let society or anyone else pressure you... Good luck

there is nothing wrong with you. if this condition does not bother you, then don't force yourself to leave it. the problem does not come from you. the problem comes from the people who mock you. this is your life and you are happy with it. if you change your mind someday, then its not because somebody makes you so. its because you want it.
