I'm 21 and I don't like clubbing or bars am I weird or boring?

i like quieter bars. places where you can just sit and chill and have a drink without some sleazy dude rubbing against me every five minutes. a place where the music isn't so loud that youcan't hear people talk.

but a lot of girls my age like to go to bars and clubs like that. I like to have a drink but in a more laid back environment. when we go to clubs or bars I am usually the one sitting there looking pissed off.

they like to "meet guys" and go out and flirt with a ton of guys who are just trying to get in their pants in five minutes.

i prefer meeting a guy somewhere real where he isn't drunk and trying to feel me up in five minutes, someone who will actually date me and get to know me. some people get an ego boost from these situations but I find it kind of sad and depressing and empty.

am I the only one?

I don't know if you're boring, that really depends on whether you're boring or not ^^. Not liking clubbing doesn't make you boring.

I love clubbing, and going to bars. It's an environment where I just let loose and have fun, listen to music I like (I like club music ^^) and maybe hook up with pretty girls. Generally it depends on the people you go out with. I generally go out with my more positive friends, and it's just great fun then because we don't need a reason to have fun, we just do. If you're really extraorinarily resistant to social pressure, you can actually go ot to clubs by yourself meet people and have a great time, but you need a great vibe and a lot of social skills.

Here's when it sucks:

-If you're on a budget and you need to watch what you spend; clubs tend to be expensive

-If you're with a group of friends who are just going for the sake of going, for an ego boost, for looking cool or whatever else reason but aren't actually having fun

-If the particular crowd in a club is filled with douchebags & bitches; I used to think that was just people getting all butthurt over being rejected and it didn't exist, but I've actually been to clubs with bad crowds, not fun.

-If the music really sucks, I'm big on music so yeah.

-If you're not in a social mood

So yeah I can totally see why some people don't like clubbing all that much. If you don't like the music, and you're not really in a super upbeat party mood, you just want to relax, clubs aren't for you.

Doesn't make you ut of place or weird though.

Glad there are still people like you out there. Not looking for an ego boost but something of substance, good for you.

BTW, my usual spot is a little dive bar that's been around forever (my dad went there when he was my age haha) Its chill and you're almost certain to know at least a few people as there are a bunch of regulars. It's my favorite and it's cheap as all else. (Us college students are broke as hell!)

We all have different preferences. Some like the more upbeat party stuff, some like the quieter, easy-going scenes. You're not weird or boring.

No, but I feel like you're projecting a lot of feelings on people. Some people in bars and clubs are shallow and sad, and some aren't.

i feel like that sometimes. I am the one sitting there looking bored and the guys come up and hit on me I think they are surprised why I am not "joining in". but I just feel bored in those places. no mental stimulation it's so empty and depressing and reeks of "one night stand" and "low self esteem"

Think of it this way, Parties/clubs are like Mint Chocolate ice cream. Not everybody likes it and that's okay. :D

it depends. I have this one friend who has really low self esteem and its like the only way she feels good about herself is from things like this..she lives to get attention from guys who just want a quick bang and that's all she gets, but deep down I know she really wants love, so I think it's kind of sad that this is all she thinks she's worth.
