He keeps pushing me towards other guys...It seems weird, why would he do that?

My friends and I are all 21 so we've been going out to bars/clubs and whatnot. For some reason my guy friend keeps pushing me to dance with other guys... however, when other guys come up to my other friend he gets all "do you need me to get rid of him?" why does he keep pushing me to dance with guys I don't want to? I even told him, no I don't want to dance with creepers.. and he's like oh just go have some fun!

its a test...to see your reaction...he likes you...but he thinks you don't like him...it's a self defense on his part...he hopes in some way...you go find someone else...so he can move on with his life while you start a new one...at the same time...by you going for someone else...he hopes you understand that if you do...you will lose him and your friendship...and hopes you want him more...I know many guys including myself who have done this to a girl...some guys won and some lost...I lost...but I do understand why he is doing it

Amberchick...yes we can play them too...it's not even really playing games it's more less understanding how girls work and using it against them...

To the Question Asker...well...it could be he really doesn't like you...but in reality...we are attracted based on looks...as we get older...personality comes into play...so dress up...smell good...and do a little touchy feel and you will get him...ohh big bright smiles help too ;)

If I liked a woman and pushed her toward some other guy, it would definitely be to gauge her reaction. I'm not saying that's what he's doing.

hm yeah. it's just interesting... he used to like both her and I... and these are two entirely different reactions to guys hitting on us in bars. I actually asked him about it... he said that he's never really been out to the bar scene with girls before and he doesn't know how to react to guys asking us to dance and whatnot.

That's what I mean... when it's guys approaching you, he wants to shoo them away. What I suggested is the only reason that makes sense to me. Why not try liking each other again?

I wish... I don't think that's an option. I asked him if he liked me and he said no. he likes another girl... also, last summer, which wasn't so long ago... he used me because he wanted a girlfriend and couldn't find one. I mean, we never kissed... but we just cuddled, stayed up all night talking, watched the sun rise, made up stories about penguins, wrestled and gave each other massages. ha ha we like dated, without any of the sexual stuff. and then he said he just wanted me and never liked me at the end!
