Is this an "alpha male" flirting sign?

There is a guy I like and I get the feeling it's mutual. But it's hard to tell sometimes men play such silly mind games and it drives me nuts. Anyways I was talking in a small room with my friend and he was there and came in And sat on the couch in front of us and listened to our convo and would sometimes join in on the talk. Now when he sat down on the couch he kept his legs open and sat back into the couch and then put his hands behind his head. Then he proceeded to keep glancing my way at times I caught him checking out my legs and waist area a couples times. Is this a typical flirting move that guys do? Is is he just being comfy? I just found it kind of odd doing that in a room with two girls and himself.

He is probably flirting. opened legs and sitting back is a common guy thing to do when they are relaxed. hands behind his head I think might be a way to take up more space in the room. stretching and moving around to place arms in a unique position (at least to me) is a way to say "hey I'm here" and brings attention to them from your peripheral vision. when guy's want to look masculine in front of women, they will often stand with their legs a bit apart and their hands on their hips. that brings your eye towards their... well, crotch. standing straight with sholders back (also with their hands in their back pants pockets) makes their chest puff out and look good. sounds to me like he was postioned to appear relaxed, confidant, and masculine.

based just on his body language, I can't say for sure, though... but the fact that he was checking you out makes me think he was flirting ;)

Open expression of his arms means he's at ease and generally up for anything

Legs spread is sign of him being in control and the dominant figure in the room

Sitting back lounged gives him a comfortable, care-free impression

If he glances he's probably checking you out/surveying your attractive features he has to first find some attraction before he starts looking elsewhere. So from his signals he's physically attracted to you but right now it sounds just physical only real way to find out is his behavior in conversation.

Naw, I don't think so. I don't know about you, but when I have a crush I over-analyze EVERYTHING. It's something that is actually pathetic sometimes. Anyways, I think you are just reading into it too much. Try and hold his gaze after you catch him looking. Then you can be the one flirting. Bada Bing. :)

He's relaxed, it's not really an alpha male trait. It also could be an invite for you to join him. He's sitting in an open position and vulnerable. If you're sure he likes you, then go for it and talk with him about it.

We do talk a lot I have known him a few years now and like I said I get the feeling he is into me as well. You know the usual eye contact and subtle touches with our hands like he always touches my hand when handing me something and facing me most of the time when in a room I have caught him looking at my cleavage and legs before too I have seen his eyes sneak a peek then quickly look away. So you think the way he sat like that in front of me is a good sign then?

I think it's a really good sign. Flirt with him some more and when you feel comfortable, talk to him about your feelings for each other.

I really do want to talk to him about it but I don't want to lose him as a friend if he really doesn't feel the same way about me. Maybe he is just being extra friendly with me and his flirting means nothing. But I do feel that in the last few years I have known him he's gotten more comfortable with me do you guys only touch and flirt with girls you really like? Or can you do this with girls that are just friends?

Guys flirt and touch girls they like. Sure guys will hug a girl when she leaves or he hasn't seen her in a while, but they don't constantly make contact. See if you can get him to talk about his feelings. Ask him if there's more than friendship there or something like that. Do you think he's a flirt?

Ya he is a flirt I would say. Not over the top but he is very outgoing and not shy at all and he can talk with anyone. I just don't think I have seen him flirt with other girls the way he does with me? Maybe he does when I am not around who knows. Another thing is when it's just the two of us alone together for a few min it seems weird like he can't really look at me or talk much he seems different and we usually get along so well and have lots to talk about but ya there are moments like that

He definitely likes you. If he can't hold eye contact, it means he's nervous. He act differently too? That's all a good sign then. I'd be very surprised it he didn't like you. Flirt with him some more and show how interested you are. I think he needs the reassurance that you like him and he'll get more comfortable. Some guys get extremely nervous around girls that they like, even the alpha males.

See and sometimes he has no trouble making eye contact it's one of the first things I noticed. He handed me something one time and he looked right into my eyes and since then we have great eye contact and talking but the odd times when it's the two of us he can barely look at me or talk to me it feels like their is maybe tension? But other times alone we are fine. So the touching is a sign he likes me too?

Yeah, he's slightly intimidated and nervous which is why he can't hold eye contact and yes, the touching is a good sign. It shows that he's comfortable with you enough to break the touch barrier. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to ask him why he can't look you in the eye. If he stutters or can't come up with a reason, then he's definitely trying to hide his feelings. Just make him comfortable so he can tell you he likes you and don't be afraid to be forward and ask him out.

See if I asked him why he can't look at me he would probably say that he has no idea what I am talking about. It's weird it's like I know what he is thinking mos of the time and how his mind works (well besides knowing if he likes me) I just feel connected to him like we both know how each of us operate. Our personalitys are very much the same and we have a lot of the same views and he agrees with a lot of what I have to say and he is very observant he remembers a lot of stuff about me

I don't know how to go about talking about my feelings for him cause we are never alone together very often. We text here and there sometimes but it's mostly just teasing banter or asking questions about something coming up that we are all doing in a group. We have had a few personal conversations through text though like about life and work and I am really happy he feels he can share that stuff with me but is he just being a friend doing tht though?

Unless he is just observant in general? Either way I hope you are right when I notice what I think are him flirting with me I do respond and let him do it. I have always let him touch me and I touch him back or move into his space and brush my hand against his arm and he seems OK with it. I just wish he would come out and tell me!

I don't think sitting and observing what's in the room is considered "flirting". I think flirting involves talking, lol. Checking you out and flirting are two completely different things.
