Why does my boyfriend not tell me things like when my yoga pants are see through?

I got a new pair of yoga pants for Christmas and wore them for the first time today. My boyfriend and I went to the gym this morning and after that we went to a couple of stores and then met up with some friends for lunch. We hung out with the friends for a while after lunch and while we were at a shoe store my girlfriend came up to me and asked me if I knew that you could see my thongs through my yoga pants. I told her no and then made a trip to the bathroom where I turned around and looked in the mirror and you could see my bright red thongs plain as day through my pants and when I bent over you could actually see my bare butt because my pants material stretched so much. I went and asked my boyfriend if he knew that my thongs were showing and he said yes he had been checking them out all day. I asked him why he didn't tell me and told him that I was embarrassed walking around like that. He told me he didn't think it was that big a deal and that see-through is kind of in style and he sees it all the time on other girls. I punched him in the stomach for saying that and told him I needed to go home and change. We went home and I got to thinking about how they were completely see-through when I bend over and how I have been bending over all day working out at the gym, trying on shoes, and who knows else when.

Why would my boyfriend not let me know this? Why does he think that this is style? I know it is somewhat my fault for not checking before I left the house but I did not even think that my pants would be see-through nor did I even pay attention that I was wearing bright red thongs. I hope people didn't think I was trying to be trashy.

Most yoga pants work exactly this way. You must have seen women wearing them who had the same issue (I've seen dozens at least, maybe hundreds). I'm sure he just assumed you knew and wore them intentionally.

Honestly, the only reason to wear yoga pants outside of a yoga studio is to let people check out your ass (and underwear, if you're wearing any). This is not a secret. Don't pretend you didn't notice they are skin tight, thin, and clingy. Yes, they are comfortable, but so are lots of other options that don't show you off that way.

Could he have mentioned something? Sure, but you were wrong to blame him for YOUR clothing choices. It's not like they were falling down or ripped open; they were in place and intact, so the fact that you could see through them wasn't unusual or remarkable; they're YOGA PANTS!

Don't know where you go, but I have the opposite experience. I see hundreds of women in yoga pants at the gym, and though I have not taken the time to make a close study, the ones I see are very tight, revealing shape and showing panty lines, and some occasions the color of the underwear, but not to the extent the Asker states. In fact, a few months back there was a big stink in the news about one manufacturer's yoga pants doing the things mentioned in the question, and they ended up with big public apologies and taking back all that anyone wanted to return.

Not quite sure what your question is. I don't know too many guys that ate style experts. Most guys would probably like to see their girlfriend's nice ass in a thong in see-through yoga pants. And to be able to look at it all day would be special.

It seems to me that a certain someone didn't "even pay attention" to their own wardrobe that day and is trying to place the blame on someone else. Are you really concerned about the incident or just sharing, because it doesn't seem to be a huge deal to me since the yoga pants weren't actually sheer. You wouldn't have put them on if they were, right?

I haven't blamed anyone for anything. My question was if he noticed my thongs showing for everyone all day why would he not say something to me so I could fix that? I know it's my fault for walking out the door like that but if he noticed why wouldn't he say something?

Your boyfriend probably thought that you knew the whole time and that's why he didn't say anything (It's a one possibility), don't think about it too much boys are pretty dumb when it comes to this.

One time I was wearing a shirt, and one of the top buttons was accidentally open exposing my bra. I was with the boyfriend the whole time and I'm pretty sure he noticed. I didn't know, personally, until I went to the bathroom and I discovered the horror. I asked him why he didn't tell me about this, he claimed he did not notice (bullshit). He just didn't want me to get mad at him, cause I was pretty pissed.

He likes looking at your ass and seeing your thong. Which is very admirable. But letting you be seen by everyone else without mentioning it to you is inexcusable. In his situation, I would have mentioned it to you (letting you know that I appreciated the view) and if you were okay with it, I would be fine and drop the subject (but continued admiring). You need to let him know that what he did (or didn't in this case) is very disrespectful to you and you will not put up with that in the future.

Well that's definitely not good on his part.. I would definitely tell my girl in that situation. Kinda hard to say why he wouldn't say anything but sometimes guys are just assholes like that.. always check your outfits in the mirror before you leave the house! I do it and I am a guy!

Most yoga pants are see-through. Taking them off makes it seem like your self-conscience. If you look good there's nothing to worry about especially if your with your boyfriend.
