I was thinking asking a college professor out for coffee on campus, opinions?

So there is this professor who I see in the building from time to time and she is adorable, a bit older than me but I don't care she is very friendly to me and I think she likes me. Keep in mind she is not my actual professor, just one in the building and was going to ask her for coffee sometime on campus Because I am curious about her and would like to get to know her even if she is married or whatever. you guys think that's acceptable or no? opinions

I am a college prof. I get asked all the time. I always have to turn them down just because there is a strict policy on that. It would be silly to do it on the campus. If you are really stuck, but forward and invite to a "new cafe downtown" or something.

If she accepts... it is on. Be mature...and super understanding that there is a risk still involved. Be prepared she may not let you buy a drink "as a gift"... good luck.

i think that is pretty reckless. I mean what professor wants to make it so damn obvious that they are dating their students? not to discourage you or anything. but I say that if you are 100% that she is down than take her somewhere else that is of course outside the campus

Yeah. College is very different than high school. I'd say asking her to have coffee with you is perfectly acceptable, if only because she's not your professor, though.

I'd say ask her out to coffee, it doesn't hurt at all.. but be prepared for the rejection, as lots of profs are afraid of dating any student. It can look at with the school.

I say go for it but be mindful of HR policies she might have to abide by...that whether they are their professor or not...might be frowned upon
