Thing is, he is very highly educated - he's not just certified to be, he really IS a great erudite. I used to be praised by teachers and schoolmates during my high school education. I have a fast thought, and I cannot say I am dumb. Lately I've been feeling really down, after breaking up with the person I loved most.
This colleague of mine tends to be jokingly critical, while I get offended very easily. I know it's a lot better to have a guy who motivates you, rather than one who drags you to his lower level.
Yet I realize you cannot master a smarter man... or can you?
If I make a mistake in our convo, simply because of my insecurity, he points it out and that insults me. I don't show it yet. I let him think he's Napoleon. At the same time that deteriorates my insecurity.
Should I go for it? I wouldn't change myself to impress him. I only wish I'd feel equal to him. Maybe he's the insecure one and likes to stay on shiny pedestals. This is a terra incognita for my personal experience!
