hey there, i do like to cook and bake and it has been part of my working life along the way too... however... in a basic week with children and working i dont cook in the way i love to cook, however, give me a shop bought pizza and i will add more meat, vegetables, herbs and spices and extra cheese too, french fries will also be tossed in extra oil with a touch of beef dripping... and dont dare anyone lecture me my grand father ate beef dripping everyday of his life and lived til his late eighties.. so its all about creating flavours that you will never get shop bought... its also very needy too i love to cook for people and feel they enjoy the food too... for me i believe these things, when you create food you are putting energy into it as in effort time and a desire for it to be good for others, usually these kinds of meals the ones i like to make cook for some time too, so lots of energy into the creation therefore it makes sense the result out ways without comparison a ready meal of the same title... if everything in the universe is ultimately energy if you eat my chicken casserole with herb dumplings thats taken 3 hours of prep and cooking time compared to micro meal factory made cook 5 minutes, despite nutritional 'facts' could you believe mine would be better for you? and when i bake cheese scones for instance ill always make more and take them to two of my neighbours... Well lol bet you didn't you expect that kind of answer? haha xx

I like cooking but I am not really good at it. But I enjoy making stuff and changing recipes to my taste and trying out new things.
My boyfriend hates that I do that and he kills the joy for me so since I have been living with him, I go back and forth between enjoying it and him sucking the joy out of it. lol!
But other all, I do like it. :)
I'm with you on this one ! I hate cooking ! I prefer anything that I can just heat in the microwave for a few minutes. It takes FOREVER to cook and a few minutes to eat the food and then FOREVER to wash the dishes again.
I don't hate cooking. I actually miss having the time to cook. I actually can both cook and bake very well. But I can understand why people would hate to cook. I didn't hate it but I wasn't thrilled about it either at one point in my life. It wasn't until my college days while working in a very high end restaurant as a server that it changed for me. One day while I was working a huge argument broke out in the back of the house (kitchen) and the owner fired everyone except the pastry chef right in the middle preparing for the function. When I walked in he yelled to me "your no longer a server! Get back here and your now a chef in training!" I didn't know the first thing about cooking let alone preparation of extreme fine dining dishes. But 4 years later I worked and trained to be a chef and never worked again in a kitchen. My point is it took me being forced to understand how to cook to not hate it.
I'm with ya. I love eating but I hate cooking because it requires too much time and patience. I can be a great cook if I put my mind to it but I don't have the time and patience for it. The only time I enjoy cooking is when I'm cooking for others for parties. I like the compliments that come with it :)

I love to eat and cook food. I like to try and make dishes that are too overpriced at restaurants and to be honest have gotten quite good at it... and in some cases better than the pricey restaurant.
As to why? It's an art form that combines aspects of sculpting and painting. It can also be dangerous on occasion, thanks to open fires and sharp knives. It has the intrigue of a scientific experiment, waiting to see what the end result is. But above all, some things about cooking are down right therapeutic. Oh oh oh and the knives and other cool tools!!I'll admit I don't like getting my hands dirty... and yet I love cooking when I can. I love food and I love the satisfaction of experimenting with tastes and flavors and creating something that I and others can enjoy. It provides a sense of deep satisfaction when you make food and find you can deeply enjoy that food or provide a deep enjoyment to someone else. I totally get why you wouldn't enjoy it... like I said I hate getting my hands dirty, but the cost is outweighed by the perceived benefits I find in it x3
I don't hate cooking, but it's a chore that I'd rather avoid if I could. It's partly because there are other things I'd rather be doing. It's partly because I just want to freaking eat, not spend time making it. I'd be content if I only had to eat a couple of times a week. It's like I just ate yesterday, why do I need to do it again already? It's not that I dislike eating, it's the need to do it all the time that I dislike.
Anyway, for some people it's more like a hobby. I suppose like anything, some people like it and some don't.I love to cook because i use it as a therapy for if I'm pissed off etc. It's like building something, construction chemistry etc. Also when I do people enjoy it. When they eat my food they always want me to cook, so it's also pleasing for them and myself as it builds confidence... not ego... another reason is who wants to eat shitty food? yet another readon, the main room usually at parties etc is where the food is.. very early do people sit in the living room. They usually spend time in the kitchen. So knowing how to cook brings people together... my ex wife never had a thanks giving at her place. She's almost forty and has three children now.. when we met we hosted thanks givings, Christmas etc because I knew how to cook, and that's something that she always wanted to do was to host. So it made us both happy. .. I'm sure there are lots of other reasons I cook.
It's calming and I like being like I made that, i did it all by myself. 2 because I know what's going into it there's no added shit. 3 when I did Christmas dinner it felt amazing to get praise from every single family member on what a great cook I am.
It's passion. something that you like and love to do.. even a lot of burns and cuts on my hand, it's like fulfillment when I cook. I'm psychology graduate but I never had a chance to work to my field.. but I'm using it in my everyday lives. now, I have a restaurant.. I have my family, I love to cook for my family, that's the reason why I have restaurant now. I treat my costumers as family members so I can give best food for them. :)
I'm pretty bad at it, but I still enjoy it~ It's fun to do new and interesting recipes! And I especially love making other people try it and seeing their reactions. I like baking the most ^-^
My boyfriend really loves to cook too, but he's actually amazing at it. He got into it because he had to cook every day for his grandma, and so it became a hobby :)The reason I love cooking is just so I can eat it lol. Yes, honestly I just cook when I have to, or if I bake is for an occasion or with friends just to spend time doing something. I have friends though that do love cooking for others, trying new recipes, etc. They just find a passion in it, in converting regular food into great plates.
People like to cook because it's very personal and soothing. Personally as in, they can customize and add in whatever ingredients and recipes they want to make something unique. It's quite fun when it actually turns out really good. Also, it's soothing, because it doesn't require a lot of energy and it's just a fun activity. Unless you're really hungry and want the food right away 😅.
A few things for me... I like creating something amazing. Getting the flavour balance right, making it look amazing, keeping it nutritious but yum... I like the challenge of getting those things right and taking care of my family.
Feeding people is a huge way for me to show care and affection.- u
I enjoy cooking a nice meal for Friday night date nights with my hubby.
Home food is delicious. And when you know certain techniques is makes everything satisfying. Oh and don't get me started when someone else enjoys your food and keeps on eating! It's a beautiful feeling. Also, food is a stress relief for me. I can beat away my stress on eggs and cake batter 🎊😂😂

That's a shame if I'm going to take on a wife I need for her to know how to cook because I don't know how to cook inside. It gets old eating cold canned soup right out of the can and raviolis and take out fast food
im not a fan of cooking but i am vegetarian and sugar free so i have to cook for myself. all take out or supermarket processed food has hidden sugar
It's fun, therapeutic and the sense of acclompishment after finishing a packed service is amazing.
Cooking at home or friends, there is a huge sense of pride and satisfaction that everyone loves your food.I can't cook at all. my ex girlfriend used to love cooking. Ill do the washing up and drying the dishes and plates and put them away thats what i used to do and if i had a girlfriend i still would do the same thing regardless
I find it really relaxing and a good way to pass time. I like the routine of not having to really think hard about something and just follow the steps in a recipe and at the end be rewarded with hopefully yummy food
It's cheaper, I get to make my food taste like how I want it to taste like, it's a great skill to have, and I just like creating things with my hands. Makes me feel accomplished.
I hate it. Every single time I cook something I burn or cut myself. I try my hardest not to. I always remember from the time before but it always somehow manages to happen.
