I came from a environment in which is seen as weird to go out alone, and if you tell anybody you went to cinema, cafe, restaurant or bar alone, they would treat you as a loser, or feel pity for you. I personally see this POV wrong because it makes having fun and your happiness dependable from others.

I would like to do more of this things alone with more frequency. I think it helps you to learn to love yourself and learn to tolerate beign alone. I started going to the cinema alone, but I haven't gone to many restaurants alone.

I'm totally cool with it.

I can choose to sit an just enjoy the quiet or I can choose to be social. I found several cafe's while backpacking eastern Europe with family style dining. I could choose to sit at the big table with others and talk or I could sit and just use the WiFi.

If I always waited for others to do things, I think I wouldn't get to do much.

Every one, need from time to time, to be alone... for me, i wouldn't like to eat alone, prefer it takeaway and eat at home alone... but for cafe i don't mind it at all, and even love it...
Cause what's better than having a cup of coffee, without any distractions, just enjoying it!
And wouldn't worry about what would people say when they see me, for two reasons. First its my life and i live it the way i want it, and secondly i don't care! 😁

Lol I did this once in high school. I had a paper to write and without it i would have failed the class instead of scrapping by with a D. So i skipped few periods before that class to rush it in a starbucks

I don't mind. I've done it all the time! If I'm at a restaurant, it's to eat, not socialize or be with someone.

Yeah, company while eating is nice, but not required. I usually just order, play on my phone or read until my food comes, eat... then leave.

Nothing awkward or lonely about it.

I wouldn't do it, don't like sitting and eating alone in public. I am introverted and do enjoy being alone but if I'm going to eat alone, I just prefer to do it at home with my own food.

I see cafes and restaurants as social outlets and that's why I justify paying for a meal, to be social with a group of friends or partner. If I'm not getting the social aspect of it then it becomes pointless for me.

It's fine! That's how I make friends when I am somewhere new. After a few days, you see the same people at the same time of day. Soon get talking!

I like going to cafe shops by myself cause I can text or have phone conversations or chat or email online and that is less demanding than a face to face interaction

i trained myself to do it in my early 20s when women didn't eat by themselves very often. I like it sometimes and don't feel uncomfortable doing it.

However, I've never been to the theater alone. I can't bring myself to go there alone.

Certainly not my favorite activity but i travel a lot. Been in places where i have no friends or they’re busy at that time so i do that. It’s totally fine.

Nah, I couldn't. When you're sitting alone in a restaurant people are going to look at you funny, and my social anxiety will be like "nope" and I'd just die.
