I get mine medium. Never understood the appeal of anything more rare than that. Way too hard to chew like that. Actually, if I had my druthers, I’d prefer well done, like the drier texture of the meat is the entire appeal to me. If it’s leaking juice, that’s kind of foul to me. Like that “juice” is pretty much just blood, bro, lmao. I don’t know, I’ve noticed the rarer the meat, the bigger the hardo ordering it, lmao. Not a hard and fast rule, but definitely I’ve noticed some correlation. But I worked at a bar with a downstairs restaurant for years, and enough cooks mocked me for my well done burgers, and outright refused to cook steaks that way, so I took it back a few notches, and I can live with medium. I’ll never forget the too-rare tenderloin I had once, horrendous disappointment, chewing should not take so much effort, haha.

At home, medium. At a restaurant I probably wouldn't order steak. After working in some kitchens I can honestly say I don't trust anyone cooking or handling my steak. Maybe if it was a well known restaurant. Maybe.
Past and beyond well done.
To me, a steak must be extremely well done, dead. Not a drop of blood must be seen. I have returned more steaks to the kitchen because despite the fact that I ordered it beyond well done, there was still pink meat to be seen.
Like @Ninjazzed stated it, a large number of restaurants do a miserable job at serving the steak the way it is ordered, regardless of cooking time.
I can eat a steak anywhere from medium rare to well done. I really don’t care but my choice is medium rare because I grew up eating it that way. I can’t eat anything rarer though.

Blue typically. Every now and then I'll be in the mood for a medium rare. One time a waitress in the US asked me how I wanted my steak done, and I tried saying "extra blue rare!" And she stopped and asked me exactly what that means, and I told her I don't mind if I get food poisoning. :-D
Just so happens I've never tried anything apart from well done or medium well as that's how my parents have theirs and how I was brought up to have it... although about time I experiment a bit more with my cooking. I'm sure medium would be perfectly fine as well, in all honesty. But any less than that and it'd still be moo-ing.
Medium to medium well, because most restaurants are terrible at properly searing the medium rare, otherwise I would have included it.. they practically served it while it was still mooing on my damn plate!
This question has been asked a million times. Mainly by me. I like my steaks, medium rare. Depending on the cut. Like if it’s one of those 1 1/2 inch thick steaks. More on the rare side. Of course steak can still taste good well done. I’ve been able to make well done steaks that are still juicy in the inside. But typically to get good flavor from your seasonings, and garlic butter, and herbs, while still being juicy, medium rare is the way to go.
Medium well. there's just so much bacteria in anything cooked less. No thanks to that.
Well done which is rare to see even when ordered so i dont really order steak
Anywhere from medium rare to well done. It seems like every restaurant is different in what the chef/cook sends out per request. I prefer medium well. It seems hard to get that consistently. So I order medium well and eat most of what I get served. Thus the wide range. A good tender NY Strip or Ribeye is pretty darn good no matter the level of being cooked. Rare or blue excluded.
Medium Rare, don't abuse a Steak by cooking beyond Medium!!!
Medium-well (since most places undercook and give it to you medium anyway) for something like a New York Strip.
If it's a prime rib cut, then medium or a touch under.I always go for medium.
Altho I must say the pic makes medium look well done. And the medium well looks well done.
And well done is just a gray brick.Blue rare is my favourite, but medium rare is the safest bet.
Medium rare or medium. I almost never order steaks at a restaurant, however.

Vinnie got it rightI like steaks medium rare. I’m kinda surprised at how many other girls are saying well done.
Blue all the way man. Not runny, not burnt, and you still get to taste the steak.
In between med rare to med. if eating out and in a mood for steak which is rare for me to eat steak i will order med rare bc most places can't cook steaks to med rare it comes out to be med.
I really don't care for steaks, but my family prefers to cook it to well done. And I agree with them, I wouldn't want to eat an animal that's almost still alive.
Well done EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Lightly charred exterior is makes it even better.Still mooing. Wash it’s ass, herd it through and cut off a slice.
