Hot in cold or cold in hot?

Contrasting temperatures bring out the best in food, who doesn't like hot apple pie with cold ice cream?
But what is the best combination hot food with cold. E. g. hot in cold, a hot chip dipped in cold mayo, a hot sausage dipped in ketchup.
Or cold in hot, bread dipped in soup, a tortilla chip dipped in a chilli

There are good examples for both. But I went with 'B', cold in hot, because I was thinking of things like fondue and other types of hot dips. Also chocolate volcanoes.

My wife makes a really good cheese thing. It's too thick to be a dip. It's savory and full of herbs. You use crackers to scoop it up.

One of the best things I ever tasted was at a pot luck celebration. One couple brought a bunch of bread pieces and large pot of stuff to dip them in like fondue. The thick, rich dip was so good that I asked what it was. They said it was basically reduced butter and anchovies. Anchovies? You couldn't even taste anchovy but they sure added an amazing flavor. I could have sat there and gulped that stuff.

One of my favorite dishes is called Killer Shrimp. There used be a restaurant by that name and I was able to get the authentic recipe. It's basically shrimp in the shell, swimming in a rich broth made of butter, beer, herbs and spices. It's served with a basket of sliced baguette. You pick the shrimp out of the broth with your fingers, peel and eat them. You dip the baguette slices in the broth. OMG! It's such a treat.

personally i prefer cold on cold... lol. like, there's not better than eating something minty (any temperature) with icy cold water
