I calculate 15% and round up if they were good, down if they were bad. I’ve never tipped more than 400% or less than 10%.

Eh, I don’t really eat out in restaurants. I’m usually flying solo and wait staff act like they are doing you a favor just taking your order. They don’t care about you, they care about the four top that just came in. That’s why they tend to sit me in the back of the restaurant in a corner.
@EllaNella I hang out with a lady who if from Germany. I'll have to ask her about that next time we go out to lunch. She has done some waitressing since she has lived here in the US, but I'm not sure she did any waitressing in Germany.
I tip 5$ that's it. With all this taxes on meals and you think imma drop Hella money, nah 5 is good enough. You can Blame Biden for the reason I didn't tip more.
Tips are important in the US because a server's salary is often low. In my area of the country (Southeast) most servers get $2.13 an hour. Without tips, they couldn't survive.
@Opinion Owner Exactly. You have the right idea all along. It's not our job to tip these people knowing it's the managers screwing them over. Wait staff is also one of the lowest skilled jobs you can take, which is why it's often teenagers and young adults doing it. I'm not against them earning higher wages, but I'm not going to be peer pressured into giving them $15-25 for some BS I can do myself. Maybe if I was handicapped and in a wheelchair, I'd tip them two bucks or so.
US Tipping Culture is one of the stupidest things about the US, and I say this as an American. It's just a scam.

Mediocre service is 15%, good service is 20%, and lousy service is no tip.
I always tip up to 25 % at times.
There was only one time I did not tip because the service was absolute shit. I never went back to that place.
For great service, 15- 20%. Fair or not so great--10%.
in germany it is custom to tip around 10% if the service is perfect. so that's what i usually tip

15-20% for just regular service and more if they’re really good.
Whatever I have in my wallet. I prefer tipping cash. I ususally have $10-$12 in ones so I’m that’s what I give.
If I ever get to the point to where my mom will quit cockblocking me learning how to drive, then probably E
Tell her you have to grow up and aren't a kid anymore
I usually tip 17-18% for decent service. If something really stood out, like the gave us something extra for free, I'd definitely tip over 20%.
20% unless if they are real special and comp some of the food sometimes they just do that and surprise you out of Nowhere
I start at 20% and with every issue if they occur the tip reduces.
Depends. Usually around 20% for decent service, more for exemplary.
depends on the waitress and the kind of attitude she has. if it's a poor attitude a nickel five cents if it's good service 18%
limited budget so honestly not a lot , try and give something but never a lot
15 to 25% depending on how good of a job they have done. Usually 20% though
Tend to tip 50% as standard.
But if they are an ass, or just incompetent, then I tend to drop just 5 bucks.
Why is tipping so important in US. They're doing their work and restaurant owners pay them their salary. Why the hell should we tip them?

So it's restaurant owners responsibility to increase their salary, right.

@MCheetah Yes such a stupidity and a lot of people here talk about tipping like they do some social work.
Nothing, because we don't tip in Australia, we pay a livable wage instead.
