Do you prefer chocolate shavings or cocoa on your tiramisu?

I go super fancy and end up teased by my house mates i do a crazy mint Expresso bean mixture. That sends ones tongue on a fun journey. 😉 The cost you might ask my niece's always beg for more 😅

Not a fan of this taste/ delicacy, but I love the name and look.

Just by the photos and obvious textures, I’d prefer the shavings as well.

Who eats spoonfuls of powder that dries your mouth up? 😂.

If the cocoa was more ‘grainy’- I guess it’d taste nicer? Perhaps some people feel it’s more ‘velvety,’ when the surface is powdery, atop of the whipped cream, or so.

I'm a sucker for perfectionism when it comes to cooking so when i make tiramisu i need cocoa or else i fixate on how it doesn't look right. Plus i only put a light coat spnit doesn't taste too bitter

I think a mix is nice sometimes. I'll cover the top in shavings and then use cocoa with a stencil to make a cute pattern on top.

I use Dark Chocolate cocoa and dust it over the top just before serving. I voted for the chocolate shavings though because YUM! (It's just easier to dust than shave.)

Is it bad if I do not know? I like tiramisu but I haven't had it for a while. Anything I last ate that was tiramisu flavored was Ben & Jerry's topped tiramisu ice cream.

Thin layer of fresh unsweetened cocoa powder. It gives tiramisu together with Amaretto a slightly bitter note.

I prefer authentic tiramisu, that's with cocoa. But additional chocolate shavings on top of the cocoa is ideal.
